Lisa Kudrow, Toni Collette, Parker Posey and Alanna Ubach star in this all too true comedy about life at the office. These four young temps try to maintain their sanity on the job while maintaining upward mobility in this gal-pal comedy.

Slow Start...Watch for Posey!!
I watched this for Toni Collette; I honestly almost did not recognize her in this!! Anyway, huge fan, I love Debra Jo Rupp--even in bit parts, she's a scene stealer--and of course the rest of the cast. Anyway, I thought it was interesting how it played out. Having worked in NYC offices back in the 80s, I thought it might be interesting to watch this. If not for the fabulous scarves both men and women don in this.Parker Posey is a RIOT in this. She really can do comedy so well, that one. She made me laugh out loud more than once, the office bawl buster. Familiar. If you like any of these actresses with a not too serious/deep movie on your list of things to do...give it a whirl.

Little Women
First, the real question is: Why isn't Parker Posey cast in every single Feature Film, T.V. Show, YouTube Video, Masterpiece Television Production, and anywhere and everywhere else a camera is rolling?? If you're a Producer or casting agent and haven't offered her a part within the past 48 hours please call and beg her forgiveness and get the paperwork over-nighted with the offer and script to her door by tomorrow. Directors, your resume is nothing without her. So, get busy.About the movie. Obviously Parker's role is a standout and her performance of it steals the bulk of the show. But Toni Collette anchors the film. And she is interesting to watch in this film as its clear she was just learning how to anchor a movie back in 1998 but for which she has since become the undisputed titan of doing so in every film she has been in in the past quarter-century. Watch her for the glimpses of what she would show us in future films that she can do when towards the end of this firm she has a couple of moments when her character chooses to not speak and chooses to communicate visually what her character must convey using nothing more than tiny crackers and a small bottle of cheap apple juice.Petty theft and doubt is on the small minds of the characters in this film. Once this style of movie was in vogue. Today it's style is no longer in fashion amongst movie makers making movies. Which we are all grateful for. Clockwatching will most certainly never go out of style wherever people gather at work, in schools, during church, and of course at bus stops. At first you too will watch this movie like a clock. or a pot of water you're waiting on to boil, but as the tocks tick endlessly on, yes, it boils at last, and comeuppance comes. Some self-confidence flickers tiny and briefly - as it might be. Yes, Margaret is referred.

Ooookay!! Kinda Weird!
This is a story about Temps at a Credit company who manage to bond and spend time together at first. Then as items begin to disappear, they all start turning on each other. Three of the workers start weirding out until the most shy, but seemingly sane, one begins to go crazy too. Scenes from an office should be the title. The thief is never caught but Iris discovers who it is. For a study of characters, this movie was ok. I found myself eagerly looking forward to the end. Something was just off. Too much grouching! I would not be sure to whom to recommend this movie. A waste of time to be enjoyed watching something else I think. :(

a goofy satire - or is it?
at some point in the film you realize it is more than just a goofy satire of office work and life in the corporate world. there are a few issues that give you pause, and make you think a little. maybe the office they work in is a microcosm of life. maybe they are stuck on a treadmill from which it is hard to escape. maybe that is why some of the people behave as they do. but don't get me wrong. this film has its share of laughs too. glad i watched it.

Great little indie film
I've been waiting for this to come to one of the streaming services. I remember renting this in the 90s from blockbuster video. I love this movie!Nice indie film starring Parker Posey, Toni Collette and Lisa Kudrow as Temps. Very funny and a lot of instances about starting out in an office environment that hits close to home. We've all been there, haha.

how dull and boring working for a company can be
if you light a notebook on fire , in the cafeteria , no one notices? four girls become friends at work and try to look busy. they don't care and no one cares about them. not only do they sit and watch the clock, but one day the main character forgets something at work, and goes back and the security guard says , she can't go in,because it is after five .

Maybe I'm A Sourpuss - Didn't Like It As Much As Others
Terrific Indie production with great cast. I think I missed what film is about beneath plot. The new girl must represent something to our protagonist that chicks and gays understand. I'm pretty perceptive and usually understand symbolysm, but didn't get that important aspect. Haven't tried to figure it out post viewing. I assume they are same person. 3 or 3/12 Stars on Amazon System.

Classic Office Comedy-Tragedy!
This is an office tragedy classic. All four ladies portray the struggling office worker so well. Toni Collette is classic in this movie and plays such an awkward uncomfortable lady that finds connection between three others who are lost and uncomfortable too. Parker Posey is so charming and I'd love to work with this character in real life. Since I know just how it is to work in a dull office with terrible lighting and phony business smarmy smiles (as well as Betty the office manager nark-types), this portrays it perfectly. If you need a good laugh, and want something to be a bit more accurate than what you'd find in Office Space, than watch this movie.
