Pockets are on the small/shallow side for cell phone, keys, etc.

These are the best shorts according to my teenage son, 'S tier' as he says. He is 6'6 and finding clothing that is long enough that he likes is a challenge. When ordered in a tall these are long enough for him. They have zip pockets so his phone, wallet, etc. don't fall out, we appreciate this joining of design and functionality.

Fits weird, good materials, buy a size smaller

So I have some old adidas shorts that I love. Deep pockets, super comfortable, but they are getting old. So I went online to buy some new ones. I have other shorts I like, but they don't have deep pockets! At the gym, when I lay down on a bench, my phone falls out. That's why I deep pockets.Well, according to the questions and answers, I saw that a) they do have very deep pockets and b) they do not have zippers.Not so. I ordered a pair of the black ones, and a pair of the dark gray ones. The black ones have a zipper and the gray ones don't. And the pockets are average depth. My phone doesn't fall out of the black ones I think because of the zipper, but the gray ones it probably will.So beware of old reviews and shallow pockets.I like the shorts, and I ordered them online so it's hard to tell, but... only 3 stars because they are obviously different shorts even though I ordered the same pair in two different colors.
