The Obscure is Oftentimes the Most Important
This is a gem of a book. I don't believe in conspiracy theories, or UFOs, or anything like that, and so I picked a copy of this, hoping to see if I could be convinced otherwise. Jeff Wells' rhetoric and critical thinking delivers. While I still don't believe in wild conspiracy theories, at least my eyebrows have been raised. I read /r/conspiracy on reddit as a challenge to my reasoning skills. I usually see a post and think, "Wait what?" only to read the first comment which debunks it, making me think, "Wait, how could I have been so gullible?" Rigorous Intuition contains many twists of reason that I think will leave you feeling more lucid afterwards.

I'd start here
I've been a long time reader of Jeff's blog and was familiar with most of his posts but having them in one collection for easy perusing found me reading the book straight through over the weekend. The book is as addictive as one long sheet of bubble wrap that is impossible to put down. And while some of the popping is enjoyable for releasing tension on some big questions, some of what gets popped can be preconceived notions.I've always appreciated how Jeff does a masterful job of traveling to the outer edges without succumbing too much to magical thinking or the occupational hazards of hysteria and paranoia. If you want a guide into deep politics, I'd start here. You need someone with a clear head, and more importantly someone who recognizes when it's impossible to have a clear head.Naturally I don't agree with all of Jeff's conclusions, but I definitely think he is asking the right questions.

I couldn't believe how good this was
I couldn't believe how good this was. I thought I knew a lot about the conspiracies of deep politics but Jeff Wells takes it to a new level.

No One Does This Stuff Better...
Rigorous Intuition, both blog and book, is written at the crossroads where deep politics and high weirdness meet in a head-on collision.Jeff Wells is one of my favorite unjustly obscure authors. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Rigorous Intuition is the most thought-provoking book I've ever read. I keep hoping for a follow-up—a Rigorous Intuition 2.0, or maybe even a Pychonesque work of literary fiction—but Jeff's blog went silent in September 2011 and he hasn't published anything (that I know of) since. Why, Jeff, why? Did the sinister forces and soul-sapping weirdness finally get to be too much? Someone needs to look straight into the Sauron-like eye of this stuff, and nobody was better at it than you.As an author who deals in similar subject matter (Crash Gordon and the Revelations from Big Sur, etc.), I know firsthand that books of this nature aren't likely to pay off in a big way, financially. But that's no excuse not to write them. Albert Camus said the purpose of a writer is to keep civilization from destroying itself. A book like Rigorous Intuition clears a path through the mass media's daily scum of lies and propaganda, allowing people to see the darker truth about how the global military-industrial-intelligence complex really operates—and what needs to be changed about it to prevent our sweet green world from devolving into a corporate-sponsored crypto-fascist police state. So Jeff, if you should happen to read this, I sincerely hope you'll start cranking out books again, doing what you can, even though there’s no real money in it. There are other things at stake....
