Weekender® Men's Traveler Air Travel Vest

I’m 5’ 9” tall and weigh about 150 lbs. So I’m on the smallish end of Medium. Thus the vest is a bit large over just a t-shirt but I figure come autumn I’ll wear it over a sweatshirt or shirt jack. But the mesh back and light weight does not hold in the heat during the current summer weather. I’m pleased.I do outdoor event/ rally and protest photography. I usually carry two cameras with lenses and 2 extra lenses or a lens and a flash in reserve In the larger pockets at bottom front. . PLUS a small camera, like a Ricoh GR III for discrete shooting. I carry my main camera on a cross body Peak Design strap but the secondary and lighter weight camera on a Peak Design Strap Lite on the left shoulder secured by the Velcro epaulet.The small pocket on the upper left is ideal for spare batteries. The two pockets on the upper right hold 1) my senior citizen sun glasses (the kind that fit over one’s regular glasses.) and 2) a Manfrotto mini-tripod. The flap pocket below the battery pocket on the left holds my Ricoh GR III or WG 6 small camera.My phone goes in an inside pocket. Where there are plenty of other pockets for misc. items, like pens, medical masks and stuff I haven’t figured out that I need yet.I am training a small dog as well and He often accompanies me on camera outings. I keep a pouch of training treats in the smaller pocket on the back right and I can carry a small collapsible camp stool or a slightly larger tripod in the larger pocket on the back.This vest is much better than carrying a camera bag or photographer’s backpack for the kind of shooting I do.

I recommend that the product description be modified to make very clear which of the many pockets are closed by zippers and which are kept closed by velcro. In my case this ended up being important, but I was unable to adequately access this information before ordering the vest, which I ended up returning

Lots of pockets to carry stuff both inside and outside, light weight, nice mesh back to allow air in, and slash pockets which I like to put my hands in not so much to warm them but to have someplace to put them besides my pants or shorts pockets. The pockets are big billows types on the outside which is nice to carry stuff but they also make the vest look a bit rumpled. Not wrinkled. Rumpled as in not laying nice and smooth like I like a well fitting vest to look. Picky I know. But in addition to carrying stuff I like my vests to look nice, not rumpled. That said, this is the best light weight travel vest I've found and I've owned a lot of them. Dozens over the years. I'm soon 74 so I've been buying and wearing vests for a very long time. In fact I like this Weekender Brand so much I may buy one of their other style vests. And the good news is that their other style vest (Odyssey) costs about half of what this one (the Traveler Air Vest) costs. In closing, the inside pockets in this vest do lay smooth and don't look or feel at all rumpled. So billows type floppy pockets on the outside and smooth flat pockets on the inside. Makes sense. One last thought, the vest feels a bit long to me but that is OK, not a problem. It feels more like one of my safari vests. Personally I'd like a "air travel" vest to be a bit shorter because I'm going to be mostly sitting on an airplane and don't need the extra length.

In the past I always stuffed my everyday carry into my side pockets, however this led to massive bulges on the sides of my pants and having to pull out everything just to get to what I want. With this vest everything I need is easily within hand's reach. I carry a fairly large amount of items everyday and I still have plenty of space.First off, this vest has 12 pockets, 3 each on the front left and right sides, 2 on the lower back, 2 each on the left and right interior sides. Some of these pockets have sub-pockets for added options (and possible added confusion when looking for gear due to how they're layered). This vest is by no means a tactical vest, but it could easily be used as a smuggling vest because of its low suspicion and khaki color, as opposed to some of the other vests I've seen that are black and make you like a PMC.The vest is solid in the front, shoulders, and lower back portion, the sides and upper back are made from mesh to vent heat and replace it with cool air. The shoulders have the worst overheating problem and frequently end up full of heat and moisture, often to the point where I have to take it off during days that are too hot and humid. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, as this a major problem in the climate I'm in. All in all this vest is great except in summer, I recommend cargo shorts when it's too hot to wear this.

Fits great, lots of pockets and mesh back to keep you cool. I wear mine 30 weekends a year and a new vest will last at least a year, usually longer. I’ve been buying this vest for approx 10 years and won’t switch to any other brand!!

This is a quality made product which I do highly recommend!

I am a photographer but relegated to photographing from my wheelchair. I needed something to help me carry extra batteries, filters, cleaning supplies, lenses(smaller ones), gray cards and the like. This jacket has made it much easier for me to carry everything, including my phone. It's convenient to put your lens cap in, and keep spare batteries handy. It's lightweight with ventilation and so far has held up very well. I have not washed it yet, but I wear it over other clothes, so very little dirt or sweat would get on it. The pockets are velcro, so If that is difficult for you to work with, do what I do, I undo the velcro and tuck the tab into the pocket, leaving it opened for whatever I need to put in and take out. For my batteries, I leave the velcro closed since I don't need to get in and out of those pockets quickly. More pockets than you need. There are some inside pockets with zippers and velcro as well. Very easy to get to and use. There is a pocket on the back, I never use it. All in all, its a quality built jacked and I recommend it for whatever you need pockets for.
