Delicate item
Very delicate item. I definitely recommend this for someone who realizes that its going to be somewhat fragile. If you have a light step, and are able to be careful with it, and are ok with possibly having to glue something back on, then by all means, for its $20 price tag, having an adjustable footrest like this is a very good deal. I knew what I was getting into after reading the reviews and knew from the onset that I would have to treat it gently. Even still, one of the wooden ridged pieces came off after only 10 minutes of gentle use. Then a few days later another one came off. Both of these I glued back into place and they've been fine since. Its a good concept, but quite delicate.. I am not sure what people expect for 20 bucks. Also the sheepskin cover is a really nice touch, its quite comfortable for your feet/legs. If your ok treating this gently then its a good buy, but I wouldn't recommend this for someone with serious problems or difficulties

Poor quality, won't stay up, pad keeps coming off. Total waste of money
This footstool is a great example of "great idea, lousy execution". I've had it for a few days and I have spent more time putting the stupid thing back up than I have actually resting my feet on it.I got this to put under my desk at work so I can put my feet up; some months ago I used a task chair for this purpose after an ankle injury and found that I quite liked it. Though the task chair (sans backrest) worked quite well I didn't want to waste a perfectly good chair as a footrest, so I thought I'd find an actual foot rest to use instead. This foot rest has two metal supports that sit into grooves in order to position it how you want. This is great in theory, but in practice no matter how I orient it the stupid things come out of the grooves practically every time I try to put my feet on it. I've even kicked it accidentally several times just scooting my chair in and had it collapse. It might be okay for a really, really sedate area where you can see exactly what you're doing at all times (definitely not okay for under a desk or table) but with young children in the house I guarantee my kids would hurt themselves and/or each other if I even tried to use it elsewhere.Total waste of money.

A little "weak" in structure
Bought this for my mom who is in a nursing home. I loved the look and the different ways to adjust the level which is why I ordered it. It's a little shaky and will not hold any weight at all. In fact, mom has broken it 3 times but my stepdad has reinforced it so it is more stable. For the price, it is a good buy if there is going to be minimal weight and movement.

it is not a bad footstool!
Firstly, two of the notches on the underside to hold the stool up came off. However, I was able to glue them back on. Unfortunately, the stool was still collapsing but one side was able to be latched (tied) together to prevent one side from falling down. Unfortunately, the notches are not deep enough to hold the silver prongs for the other side so that the stool does not collapse! If I can get this fixed, it is not a bad footstool!!

needs some modifications
bought one for myself and then one for my mom. it's a good stool, but does need some modifications. The little holes that are used to adjust it aren't deep enough and the stool tends to fall or readjust. so we used binder clips to clip the two in the front and have had no problems. We haven't found a good fix for the back one.

It does the Job
It's a little on the flimsy side and the metal supports don't stay in the adjustment slots when you move the stool around. I solved that problem by using movers' packing tape to secure the rods in the slots. It does do what I wanted. It keeps my leg up when I need to enhance the blood circulation. It's a lot less expensive than an ottoman.

Good Idea--Poor Design
The idea of this stool is great. I looked like just what I was looking for. I wanted to use it under my desk at work for those times when I'm doing a lot of typing, and I need to lean back in my chair, stretch out and pound the keyboard. Unfortunately, it doesn't stay in position. The grooves that are supposed to hold the metal supports are positioned incorrectly, and don't hold the supports like they should. It collapses more often than it stays up. The cover is cushy and comfortable, but the fuzz comes off on my pants. The heights would be perfect if they worked.
