It's perfect, as the spread of the water means it doesn't overflow. Plus, with the different included sprayers, you can find a combination that suits you.There's a battery inside the solar unit, so when it goes dark, you still get roughly 1-2 hours of it working.The solar panel is a good size for the pump, if you just have the water going up in one single stream, is a good height.

I have it installed on the west of the house so it doesn't get direct sun until midday, but it starts hours before the sun hits it. It's not the full height, but enough to keep the water moving with flowing sound. Same with cloudy days. In the evening the lights come on and the fountain keeps going for a few hours

I am really pleased with the Aistin solar fountain. In the box were the pump, solar panel, and six nozzles.Connecting the pump to the panel for the first time, I was shocked at how powerful the pump was. Each of the six nozzles creates an impressive jet or jets of water that can reach some height. I’ve had a floating solar pump in the past, but the solar panel ring always needed full sunlight, as the slightest of shadows would cause the pump to stop. This, on the other hand, can cast some shadow over the solar panel; however, for the best results, you want to make sure that the panel gets as much sun as possible. This is made easier by the fact that the connecting cable is a decent length, meaning you can position the panel in the best place.

I've bought more pumps like this, and they are clearly the best I've tried. Even when the sun sets behind clouds, the pump goes on and continues for a few hours after the sun goes down. The right height of the beams and different nozzles to choose from are included. Really a top-quality pump. Other pumps go out instantly when the sun goes behind clouds or is obscured. But not this one.

Has good pressure even though very small pump. I use it in my garden fountain. With the reserve battery in the solar panel, it even pumps during cloudy periods. Apparently it senses darkness and shuts off. I don’t know for sure as I’m already in bed sleeping.

Zero assembly required except securing the screw attachment for the power wire. The battery was already charged partially so the moment it hit the sunlight and the pump went underwater it began pumping. It seems high quality for it's class, the lowest priced class. I did not want to spend a lot on this item. It functioned flawlessly all day so far. As sunset came, it was also overcast and raining. There was enough sunlight to keep it pumping!!! Most fountain pumps would have stopped at this point. The extra features of a battery to keep pumping for a while after dark, compared to direct current to the pump is great. The feature to prevent overheating of the pump by low water levels is also great, most in this class lack that feature. It has a long power cord so the solar panel can go in a better light area than the container pond which is partially shaded intentionally. I honestly think that his is the highest quality system in the $14 to $17 USD price class. Pick this one. (in the video attached, I did not add the fountain attachment and instead only need the water to move across the surface, you actually get better aeration and cooling that way, but you can still see the water move. the betta fish seems to like it.)

There is no filter to clean, making it easy to maintain without the hassle of unscrewing the pump. Only time will tell if the lack of a filter causes any issues with functionality in the future. Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a solar fountain with a battery backup, allowing it to continue running in the dark
