After thorough research of the various types of light available, I decided on this one to replace an Arcadia which needed a new bulb. The Arcadia and similar lights promote that their bulbs produce UV-A and UV-B which they feel essential for indoor birds, however my own research leads me to believe that UV-B is a no-no and can cause eye damage.These LED lights produce no UV light so no harmful UV-B (and UV-A goes through glass so our parrot gets some as his cage is near a large window) and are otherwise full spectrum with a high Colour Rendering Index.It seems well made and well thought through in terms of design. I also bought the timer from the same company.The main thing is, the parrot loves it! He rarely used to sit under the Arcadia, whereas with this one, he will actually go back to his cage and sit under it. I also feel he is happier to be left in his cage in general since installing this light, seems it makes for a more relaxed and contented parrot!Highly recommended.

Safe lighting for parrots even the most persistent chewers 🦜 all metal fastners - even the cable ties. I coupled with the timer from the same company M&M Cages which allows the light to turn on and off gradually mimicking natural sunrise/sunset. This will help with plumage and promotes natural production of vitamin D. Very happy with the set upI'm now one month on from purchase and my bird is eating better, more interactive and in general in better mood. He had never stepped up to me (newbie owner only had him 3 months). Within 48 hours of light unit being installed he stepped onto my arm without hesitation. We now spend our time together with him using me as his human perch 🤣 I can't say 100% it's down to the lighting but the positive change is huge

Normally my parrot tends to stare into bright led lights as the type in my kitchen, yet he does not stare into this light over his cage and as not been afraid of it being on his cage.

This light is substantial, very safe for my Cockatiel due to the guard, easy to attach to cage, bonus is that he can use it as a heated perch , due to its robustness I have no worries about him sitting on it whilst he is out of cage and I am around. Only slight downside is it is very bright and he is taking a while to get used to it, and though the timer dims light 20 mins either side it would have been good to be able to adjust the brightness but realise it must be set that bright to benefit the bird. Would definitely recommend this light for caged birds.

Got it screwed into the ceiling and it works great. Birds are happy with their regular dose of daylight (I've got it on a timer).Very well protected, and hefty wrap on the cable.
