Yes. Although this game may look intimidating at first, the rules are quite simple (especially because it's cooperative). I would recommend some adult help at first.

If you buy everything including the upcoming expansion I believe that brings the game to 20 or more (including the official downloadable quests from the games website). The Star Shield expansion is all repeatable until you are pretty much sick of the game.

Can I make this a 5-6 player game with the expansions or does the New Heroes expansion only work with the original game?

The Legends of Andor: New Heroes expansion is only compatible with the Legends of Andor base game (the original game) and the Legends of Andor: The Star Shield expansion.
