They fill the gap
They do fill the gap, but they’re a little bit flappy.They stop the muck going down the sides so that’s the main thing.

doesn't stay in place
This Gap Cover does not stay flat so debris can get under it. I won't be using it as a gap cover in my kitchen. It looks cheap and isn't long enough. Maybe I can find another use for it. Won't bother sending it back
