This is a great buy. The taste is rich . Tried a different tallow that was smaller and more expensive.This was far superior.

About six months ago my husband and I began a carnivore diet where we only eat meat. (And I mean ONLY meat - no vegetables, no fruits - ie, no sugar or carbs.) This product was recommended to use for cooking and adding flavor. And we used it for both.What I like: Adds a lot of flavor and moisture to meatWhat I don't like: Hard as a rock and difficult to get out of the containerWhen we first started the carnivore diet, I used this tallow all the time. My husband would pre-make a bunch of hamburgers that we'd put in the freezer. When I wanted one, I'd pull it out, put some tallow on top, stick in the microwave for 60 seconds each side, and then eat a delicious, juicy burger.Although it's difficult to get out of the container, that's just the nature of the beast. As far as flavor, this is an excellent product. The price seems a little high, but I still say it's worth it.

First off, the lid is not sealed, it just popped off. Secondly, the package says 1 1/2 pounds. When weighted on an accurate scale it was under 1.2 pounds including the container. Not sure if this is typical, but it’s a rip off.

Very nice, no scent to it, but not silky smooth as another brand previously used. Upon opening first time it was apparent it was grainy. Reasons for graininess are, according to Internet, improper storage and temperature fluctuations, poor rendering, oxidation. But there is no smell to it so it doesn’t smell old.The graininess melts away as soon as it starts heating up. It’s great for cooking with and I really like it, but I will try another brand when this is done.The container looks like it holds three or 4 cups.
