Fun Costumes Princess Bride Inigo Montoya Sword Accessory

I got this for my Dread Pirate Roberts costume for Salt Lake Fan-X. I know it’s not Westley’s sword, but it seemed fitting. I bought a metal sword originally, but it was super heavy. This is nice and light, but needed to be inspected closer before I went in to make sure it was not dangerous. I bought the frog and belt on Amazon, then I made the scabbard out of Gorilla tape.

Repainted mine for a costume, but the original paint was really good on its own. It has little plastic gems on the handle and the sword didn't arrive broken or bent or anything.

Ordered two of these so my sister and I could dual as Inigo Montoya and The man in the mask. It actually looks nice and is not too small for adults. It also can be used in a mock dual. We've taken a European Weapons class, and we performed some of the iconic fight scene--complete with witty dialogue. Only lost one jewel. The only thing is when you get it, the handle will probably be lose. Both of the ones I ordered had this issue, but it's such a minor thing. Took some glue and that held it in place for the entire day.

From the other reviews, I was a little worried about it being loose or bent but it arrived in perfect condition. (I might add some glue to increase stability in the hilt but unless you're actually sword fighting with it, I don't think it's really necessary.)The price was a little concerning too. Amazon can be hit or miss but I really needed a rapier and I don't trust my costuming skills enough to make one. It's completely worth the price though. It looks amazing in person. I'm so happy I bought it.(Now I just need the pandemic to end so I can take it to a convention!)

It looks great, but is a little flimsy. It also is a bit sharp where the guard meets the hilt.

I really love it. I feel like it’s a really amazing sword. Really nice quality. And this is why I’m giving it 5 stars. Warning: slightly bigger than the photo shows. Really bendable blade. Not a good travel item. But all the rest is OK.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical buying this for my Halloween costume. There were other swords for about $10 cheaper, but they weren't Inigo's sword. I decided to spring for this one and I was BLOWN AWAY by how great it looked. Yeah, it's painted, and yeah, it's plastic, but for $30 you aren't going to get a prop that looks this good and is *exactly* what you need. I haven't walked around with it yet, if it falls apart I'll update the review.I wouldn't actually fight with this, which should go without saying.
