The 22-Day Revolution Cookbook: The Ultimate Resource for Unleashing the Life-Changing Health Benefits of a Plant-Based Diet

Absolutely worth it! Good for gluten free people and picky eaters
I'm not a vegan. I've always relied on meat/seafood as the center of my meals, so diving right into a vegetarian cookbook was scary. I'm so so glad I did. These recipes are OUTSTANDING!!! I have to be gluten free for medical reasons and I've found nearly all recipes are gluten free! I didn't bother with the other book, this one lays out everything you need to do along with the basis of his planning and lifestyle. Each recipe I've tried so far (only bought a few days ago, but so excited I've been cooking nonstop) is so flavorful that I really struggle with portion sizes (which are also included with each recipe, how many servings and brief nutrition info per serving). My picky-eater 6 year old is in love with everything I've made so far. I can't stop raving, that's why I'm leaving a review. Mr. Borges nailed it with this book, it's soooo great!

Great concept but couldn’t do it.
Concept is great. I just couldn’t stick to the meal plans listed. Wasn’t much variety in the vegetables used and the use of tomatoes and avocados for garnish on everything got old. Also a lot of stuff requires a lot of advance prep time. I threw in the towel after my pizza dough came out like cement.

The 22-Day Revolution CookBook
I learned a lot about Plant-Based Foods, versed Vegan & Vegetarian foods. I did try & still trying to eat more Plant-Base Foods. I started out with Fresh Kale, Fresh Spanish, & Fresh Mix Greens, along with Sunflower seeds, Pistachios, Dried cranberries & nut mixture, and other Fresh Vegetables as a Salad. In four days I lost 7.4 pounds. Which was great. I am on a budget & many of the items are just too expensive for me. I will continue doing this Plant-Base eating my way for now, because the Book is so 'Worded.' It takes time to grasp it & involves much planning ahead of time, which I don't always have. I give the Book 4 stars because of the knowledge I gained, but for the ease of using it I will give it 2 & half to 3 stars. I wished the Author could have included each meal plan with everything needed to make that meal together, along with ingredients, rather than a person having to search through the book for all the information for that meal. I do believe in the concept of eating Plant-Base Foods for your health as well as the added bonus of losing weight. I am glad that I did not purchase all 3 books, because I believe it would have been a waste of my money. I will continue reading & hope to try some of the recipes in the near future. It does work, even if you don't follow every detail. I am losing weight. Meanwhile I am eating much more Healthier, which is excellent for my health.

MIxed
My review is focused on the "entrees". If you want vegan baked goods and desserts, perhaps this is your book. Didn't try them, I don't eat that. Re. the entrees, most are simple and require few hard to find ingredients, if any. But many of the entrees are salad based and nothing new. Of the 3 non salad entrees I made, they were all kinda bland. One had a lot more calories than stated, when you consider the ingredients so listed and the stated serving sizes. While the entrees were "eh" to me, if you don't cook much or know much about cooking, etc. this might be helpful. I mean this with kindness.if you buy this cookbook and make the chickpea soup, don't add the water, but do add some cayenne. If you make the Beluga lentil salad, make half the lentils or reserve half for another use. That one's way out of proportion. And if you do buy this cookbook, remember that you can substitute veggies, legumes and grains (you know this) to your preference. If this book inspires you, great! For me, it did not.

Time consuming and complex
I will admit, I did not plan to go 100% plant based. If you totally want to give up all dairy, seafood and grains, then you may be willing to put in the effort. First off I am an avid home cook, cooking 5 dinners a week and spending typically 30-60 minutes doing so. I also absolutely love to cook, I much prefer to pick my ingredients, know what I put in, so I know the health of what I am eating. The recipes I tried where good, but there were so many steps. Seem that most recipes had 2-3 others referenced to make a full meal. It was just too much for me. I will continue to try to increase my plant based eating, and hope to continue to try some additional recipes, just don't have the time to do the ones in this book, even if I work ahead.

Magnificent Marco strikes again!
I absolutely love this book! The recipes in it are different than the ones included in the 22 Day Revolution book. I've definitely fallen in love with plant based meals because of this book! the cashew cheese dressing brings so many of my dishes together! I never thought I'd stop craving caesar salads from Maggiano's, but it definitely happened after the 22 day revolution. The book has mostly simple to intermediate recipes, but there are a few that seemed a little more intricate to me though. Don't get discouraged though! This is definitely worth it and was well worth the wait!

This definitely works
Gave this book a try after gaining some weight over the past year. I lost 14 pounds in a month which was shocking. I didn't find the diet too hard. What was challenging was having to cook so much food every day. Some recipes also took some tinkering around with to taste more to my liking, some were complete fails. For repeat recipes I wasn't too fond of, I'd use another that I liked in place of it. Over all, I think one should give this book a try even if it's just to eat healthier.

I enjoyed trying the recipes
This cookbook and The 22 Day Revolution are very similar, I enjoyed trying the recipes. I would like to have seen "serving size" for the recipes since I have a large family. The recipes are simple to make

Interesting 'diet' / eating for life. Give it a go!
Interesting book and plant based diet plan. Bit like a vegan & gluten free but not quite. Good because it has a 22 day menu plan but some meals are repeated - would have been nice if the were all different. Also not sure about the balance of meals each day I remember one day when there was 2 slices of GF bread with veg twice. You eat a lot of avocados and sweet potato, spinach etc crop up a lot. Didn't really mind that and we did follow it for the 22 days mostly. The most annoying thing is that only a couple of the recipes tell you how many servings it makes so you have to guess! I also bought the cook book which has nice colour pictures and the recipes do generally say how many they serve. We have moved on to more freestyle using the cookbook. Both have lost a bit of weight & inches but I wasn't expecting to much as I'm already GF & vegan so pleased with that. I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough of the right nutrients hence trying this regime. You do have to do alternate cardio & resistance exercise each day. All in all I would recommend it but I guess it could be a huge lifestyle change for someone who is not a vegan & GF already but that might be a good thing.

A good, flexible diet and lifestyle book
I had previously done the 22 Day Revolution diet, so I bought this book to continue that journey.I really like this book because it has so much variety and flexibility. It tells you exactly what you need to do each day and why to follow the diet, but also gives you a lot of choice about what to eat each day and how to take your exercise. The recipes are not complex so anyone can use this book. They are easy to follow, and actually tastier than you might think! My husband and I have both been very impressed with the book and I will continue to use it for a long while.
