Flavorful
Very flavorful, salty with burst of spice. The bag it came in was simply a ziplock bag equivalent, just a little thicker with label sticker that looked different than what’s shown in the picture. Over all the flavor is explosive compared to the peppercorns from Costco.

Excellent!!
This is an interesting pepper option - not quite as strong as Phu Quoc and with a distinct flavor of its own. Terrific on scrambled eggs. Fast delivery. Thanks.

Great if heated first !
This kampot black pepper is very mild and has a taste that comes out when heated. Simply grinding it onto food won't have much of a flavor. I ground the pepper into warm olive oil along with other spices and cookedon medium/low beat in a small shallow pan. The flavor was excellent after heating it directly. Adding it to dishes without heating first (with the exception of frying eggs) seems like a waste of these high quality peppercorns. I haven't tried roasting them but I assume they'd be tasty for a few days after roasting.

WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE
I ordered this pepper a little over a year ago and have kept it hidden from my wife. She would use this on boxed mashed potatoes, unaware that this is priced like gold. I accidentally spilled some on my floor while putting them in my pepper mill. The 5 second rule was out the window. I picked every last one up and pretended it never happened. With that being said, I use this pepper on very rare and deliberate occasions. It is unlike any other pepper I have ever used. The aroma that hits you as soon as its cracked is life changing and if you weren't into pepper before, this will open a whole new world for you. I have since researched pepper exhaustively and learned lots of things I never new before. Most people never thought of using pepper on desert, well guess what, after some research you are going to want to crack some red peppercorns over vanilla ice cream. And the red peppercorns we see here in the US are actually not peppercorns. They are berry's of another plant family. The real red peppercorns are the ripe end of a life cycle from these Kampot, Cambodia plants. They are much more rare than what most people believe and very difficult to find here in the US. With that being said, I have become excited about Kampot, Cambodia pepper and it all started with an Amazon order from this company. Finding these peppercorns from other companies has proven extremely difficult and unless you want to call some Cambodian Farmer and order 100 Kilos, this Amazon affiliated company is the place to purchase..

Great customer service, but I was not impressed with this product.
First of all I would like to preface this review stating that I have a pretty good palette. I can usually recreate a dish just by tasting it. With that being said, this was a total waste of money. 54$ per pound for peppercorns. I expected so much more and was delivered crap. Seriously, I compared regular fresh ground black pepper to this, ( with a spoon of vanilla ice cream in between) and I have to say that this crazy expensive pepper really lacks in flavor and zing. Below average in aroma and in taste. When I opened the nice foil bag, and took in a great sniff, I thought to myself..seriously? your joking? Right? I honestly expected to be blown away with a flavor explosion, the heavens to open and the angels to sing from all the hype reviews. And then my taste buds would be doing a happy dance, like when you taste Sichuan peppercorns for the first time. Totally not the case and I am completely disappointed. Save your money, go buy some McCormick. It sure as sheet does not live up to the hype of all the reviews. What a total waste of $$$$ Follow up. After my review, I was contacted by the seller, who refunded my money and sent a sample of White Peppercorns. As soon as I opened the bag, and took a deep sniff, I know it was a home run. So much more fragrant than the black, with a very nice bite, without overwhelming the flavor of the peppercorn itself. So I have changed my review from one star to three, not based on this particular product, but on their customer service

Good Pepper, But Expensive
I like pepper. I've shopped around over many years trying to make sure I had good pepper and a good pepper mill to grind it in. This Cambodian pepper has glowing reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. It is about four times as expensive as the pepper I usually buy. And after a little experimentation, it tastes roughly the same to me. The smell of a bag is definitely better than the smell of my normal pepper, but when it comes to eating it, I can't really tell the difference. And since I think I buy good pepper, and this is roughly the same, that makes this good pepper as well. But the price tag is pretty high for something that doesn't taste better.
