This thing is pretty sweet.
It doesn’t do really large jobs, but de-limbing a tree would be easy work, it’s lighter than the gas motels, good quality, put together fast and easy, good power, charging is fast but the battery doesn’t last long. Change it vertically so the oil doesn’t leak.

Serious chainsaw. A real tool and part of the great overall GreenWorks system
I will admit that I was very skeptical about a battery powered / cordless chainsaw. Kind of the same nagging fear of lack luster performance when I made the cut over to cordless drills 20+ years ago. Honestly even the name "GreenWorks" worried me as well and I feared that they were simply jumping on the "eco-warrior" hype train vs. being focused on building and designing a usable tool. I researched and read both personal and industry reviews of the tool and 80V system. I could not find a single negative comment and it seemed to be universally loved. Ultimately I figured that there must be something to this and their 80v line of products so I went ahead and ordered. Worst case I could always return if it did not live up to the hype.Well I used the saw heavily over the weekend and I am simply stunned. It handles, feels, and preforms just likes a gas saw. It cuts without hesitation and does not lose power as the battery drains. The on-board power indicator is great because it lets you know you are getting low because otherwise you would never know. It lived up to it's rating of ~45 minutes of cut time and easily hit the "150 cuts" per charge as advertised. I was doing more clean up work (vs. heads down non stop cutting) and used the saw for 2-3 hours of work time before it eventually was out of juice the first time. The 30 minute recharge time is amazing and was not any kind of inconvenience as I just took that opportunity to clean up the debris and limb scraps I had been cutting. Battery was full before I could blink and it didn't even give me a chance to catch my breath. If rotating two batteries you would literally have infinite time as the literature states. It was refreshing not to be covered in oil/exhaust and fumes the entire day as well as with the limited vibration you are simply not completely worn out from using it. Pick it up - use it - put it down - pick it up and use it again. No need to kill it and restart it between cuts. I used it to fell and process two full trees, to take out a large 20" stump/trunk and cut it into rounds that someone else left standing, and overall to clean up 2.5 full acres of wooded property and all on only 2 charges of the battery. Simply amazing results and performance!Pros:Powerful saw with real cutting power~45 minutes of cut time per chargefast 30 minute recharge of batteryno need to deal with gas/oil mixturepart of a powerful tool line that shares battery and charger so no need to purchase duplicate components when expandingCons:Since it is not a screaming smelly monster, at times it is almost too easy to forget that this is a serious tool that demands respect and needs proper safety precautions.Spare batteries are expensive (but they worth it)In short I love this tool and look forward to expanding into it's other equally well rated brothers!======================== Update ===========================I recently recommended this to a friend. He purchased on my advice and after using it he had a similar outstanding experience. As with me the saw FAR exceeded his expectations and if now further recommending it to his extended family members who live in rural Colorado.

A little powerhouse
I must say that I was very favorably impressed by how much power it has. After using gas driven chain saws for years, I was skeptical about it's performance. It works very well with limbing a downed tree. However, when used to cut 12" -13" pieces use caution for though it will do it, it will overheat the battery pack and will not recharge until it cools down. Used properly for cutting up smaller pieces i found it a very useful tool. I'll use my 24" Stihl for the larger pieces, those larger than 8" in diameter.

Good chainsaw for the money
Easy to use, good battery life, and cuts well.

It works great but buy a spare battery too.
The saw works flawlessly. It's not speedy but it has enough torque to cut through anything as thick as the bar. It's a decent size kerf so it actually cuts wood. It's quiet and discrete so I don't feel bad about cutting the firewood right up to dusk in my neighbourhood.Basically, the only thing I'd like to wish for is a great deal on a longer life battery. It really comes up to about 45 minutes of easy but steady cutting and it takes double the time to charge it. I'd be happier if they included another battery even if it cost a bit more.
