Super Fancy Pencil!
I accidently bought this size instead of the .7 version but decided to keep it! I've been having a lot of fun using it. It has a cool mechanism with the clip part, the lead is well protected, and I like the little cap that covers the eraser! It erases really well, writes well, and is comfortable to hold. Its also pretty heavy compared to the cheaper mechanical pencils that I've owned before. I haven't dropped it or damaged it yet so I say it's also pretty durable ( but I haven't really put it to the test yet.) Overall, pretty cool pencil!

Perfect sharpness every time.
No doubt about it. This is just a great pencil. I use it in my workshop and I have dropped it, stepped on it, kicked it, thrown it by accident, let my grand kids use it, and it still works perfectly! It advances the lead the perfect amount letting me make exact marks for cutting. I love the retracting feature that keeps the tip safe when it's not being used. I use both the 7MM and the 5MM sizes.

Pinnacle of Pencils
I've seen this Pentel show up on a few woodworking youtube plugs. I put it on my wishlist some time ago for the heck of it and eventually picked one up on sale. I got really tired of breaking lead in my standard mechanical pencils trying to mark cut lines. I wasn't expecting much but honestly the amount of thought that went into the design of this pencil is impressive. The retracting mechanism for the lead is just genius. The thin point allows for more accurate lines when running against a ruler or square. It's got a nice weight to it and just feels like a real tool instead of just a pencil. They are a bit pricey but honestly.. I'm not made I bought it. I may purchased a .9mm for some more rougher/framing stuff at some point, but for fine work and to the 1/32nd markings, this is a awesome pencil.

Super mechanical pencil
First of all, the value. I looked in many stores and found this device selling usually for over $20.00.It seems the art stores really gouge the real time shoppers. So, for about $10.00 I found this one. It even came in the mail a day or two early......great!It looks great, it feels great and it works great!Probably the only thing that seemed a bit odd was the rather large multipurpose pocket clip/retractor.Thats OK though. That part is really well made and pinned nicely. I don't think you will lose this one easily if you are going to carry it in your shirt pocket. It came loaded with HB lead and I like the fact that it used the standard Pentel erasers as well.I find that this model extends the lead perfectly every time! The lead holder retracts with a healthy snap. I feel confident that this unit is built well and will last a very long time. I bought the silver finished model of which is very beautiful to look at and to hold!Unless you are extremely particular, I don't think you can go wrong buying this nice little unit, especially if you can find it for $10.00.=KL=

Great for the workshop
This is a great mechanical pencil to use in your workshop. The reason is that the tip is retractable,so if it falls on the ground, the tip doesn't get bent. Highly recommended.

Solid Mechanical Pencil
This pencil feels great to use. It has just the right amount of weight—heavy enough to feel solid and comfortable, but not so heavy that it tires your hand. The tip protection mechanism is especially well-designed and makes the pencil feel even more durable and professional. Excellent quality overall.

Excellent mechanical pencil
I've always used cheap little pencils when doing odd jobs around the house, but wanted a good mechanical pencil that wouldn't get beat up. I love the weight and heft of it. I ended up buying two. One to actually write with and have at my desk, and one to use on the little handy jobs around the house. Like the other reviewers, I recommend getting some external erasers. This one is barely adequate and runs out fast. I also recommend getting some different lead weights to use for different jobs, and make sure they are resistant to breaking. This has definitely become my favorite mechanical pencil of all time, and I use it frequently.
