DEMCiflex Dust Filter for Fractal Design R5, 2-Vent Top, Black Frame, Black Mesh

This filter covers 2 adjacent open "moduvents" on the top of the Fractal Design R5 case.Pros: Does its job, is black.Cons: Magnets that hold it in place are very weak so it can slide around very easily if touched, whole thing is flexible giving it a flimsy feeling.Bottom line: Since Fractal Design for some reason doesn't make their own, this is the best you're gonna do until they decide to make their own. Get it to keep dust from getting sucked into your case through the top vents (assuming your top vents are intake).UPDATE: So I hadn't cleaned my computer in 2 months because of reasons, and I'd noticed that the temperature had been slowly creeping up over that time. When I finally disconnected the system and went to clean it, I found that the inside of the case had hardly any dust at all in it. The top vent filter however, had a solid wall of dust and cat hair on it the density of a neutron star. I was able to clean it off easily with my blower and reconnected everything. The temperatures came down immediately. So there you have it, the filter really works very well. Just uh... don't forget to clean it once a month.

Fits my case perfectly. I desperately needed something when I decided to open the top of my R5 and add a Noctua 120mm to let out the extra heat from my GTX 1080 Ti's upward facing fans because I felt like I could see the dust falling in, lol.The magnetic part is enough to stay in place, considering it lays down anyway, and if you are looking for it to fit just right, you will feel like you need to pull the corners a bit, but then it lays as flat as it can.The main thing is it blends in nicely and, of course, blocks all that dust!All I have to do is take it vacuum it off with a soft brush from time to time and it works perfectly.Thanks so much for having a product like this specifically for this awesome case!

It's an ultra-fine mesh, and restricts airflow quite a bit. In fact, my case's top fan blowing out as an exhaust fan pushes the mesh upward when its spinning due to the restrictive nature (at 800 RPM). It's also the reason why the pictures here make it look like it's a solid piece rather than a mesh.However, if you've looked for a custom filter for the top of your Fractal Design R5, you know there are really no other options out there. So this filter is likely as good as it gets for us R5 owners. The quality is good, and it arrived undamaged, so I have to give it 5 stars.

Dust-bunnies beware! The filter is really high quality and the mesh is really fine, not like most filters you buy, which is fantastic! However, the outer magnetic rim has a glossy finish, so it doesn't fit the matte black aesthetic the R5 case if looks is what you're going for. Also, it doesn't fill the indent your case has when you take out the top panels, but goes all-around and almost touches the edges of the case.

I bought this product for my Fractal Design Define S case.The filter fits on the top slots.My only complaint is that I wish the black border was matte instead of glossy. Other than that, it does the job of preventing dust from falling into my computer when it's off.

It looks solid from the photo here on Amazon, but it is indeed a fine mesh and I am confident it will be an excellent dust deterrent on my new build. It has a minimalist design which fits perfectly with the Fractal Design R5, and the magnetic attachment is very good. Sizing is perfect.

This thing is great! It does the job! Keep in mind it doesn’t clip in. It magnetically sticks to the top.

It corresponds well to what it is.
