Love this tent!!
I am not really into camping but my husband is. He sleeps hardcore, in a hammock at night with a tarp. I get cold and scared lol. So I bought this on a whim, and he set it up for me (took maybe 3 mins), and lemme tell ya - I am obsessed. We’ve gone camping 3 times in the last month because I am enjoying it much more now! It has good air flow and the car is so much darker than a tent, so I sleep in till 9:30 in here. I love everything about it except the tiny bag it came in - you can see in one of the photos that it’s just thrown in the back lol. I got a “human dog bed” for the car as well and some small fairy lights to make it cozier. I am afraid of everything but feel so safe and secure in this tent. I couldn’t be more pleased! It is a great price for the quality and doesn’t really have to be aired out after using it because it doesn’t touch the ground.

Beach day
This ‘cove’ is perfect. Took me about 15 minutes to set up. Made well. Excellent for tailgating at the beach. Haven’t tried a ‘sleep over’ in it yet but the zippered in screen & privacy is nice feature. The day I used it, had 4 different ppl stop and compliment it. One person got on her phone and ordered it right then & there!! Note* I had my hatch opened to its fullest height. So if you have that option open to the highest.

Very Convenient
Sometimes I just like to drive to a state park in the evening, after work, and sleep out under the stars. I really don't have time to do anything else. This little SUV tent is amazing for those types of quick, spontaneous trips. My vehicle is a Subaru Forester. This model of this tent is not specifically designed to fit my auto but it fits very well enough. The other model of this tent is designed to specifically fit my Subaru, but that model of this tent does not have the awning feature. The tent slips on over the hatch and the corners of the hatch are supposed to fill a pocket in the corners of the underside of the tent. The hatch door of my Subaru does not jet out at 90 degrees and are more curved, so the corners of the hatch door are only partially inserted into the corner tent pockets. No big deal. There is enough give and strap attachments on the rest of the tent to make it fit great. The colors on this model of this tent are also more appealing than the other model of this tent. They are silver grey and black. The other model of this tents' colors are bright blue and white. So, if you are considering this tent, but it is not specifically designed to fit your hatchback SUV I wouldn't worry about it. I think most people would be more satisfied with this model of this tent rather than the other model. Very easy to attach to car and set up. Takes a max of 10 minutes the first time. Seems very well constructed. Materials and seams seem sturdy. Things manufacturer/designers could improve on. Make the pocket on the underside of the awning part of the tent, that the hatch slides into universal. Extend it to full length across the the tent edge so any hatch door would fit. Provide attached to tent stuff pouches for the guide lines. This is an affordable, quick, convenient, sturdy little tent for overnighters. 4 stars given related to my purposed redesign to create a universal fit of this model tent.

Camping is fun again!
Updated after a 2021 summer trip: We love this even more after we camped for a week in the Black Hills of SD. A VERY large storm front came through one night with heavy wind, thunder, lightening, and several significant downpours. Our SUV tent never batted an eye, so to speak. The canopy frame never moved and it stayed very well sealed with no leaks. The part that goes around the bumper was quite full of rainwater but it was easy enough to just loosen it and dump it out. It was so nice not to worry about having a wet tent floor after such a heavy storm. We are looking forward to our next trip! Original review: We took our Napier Cove out on it's maiden voyage this weekend and really like it. It took some time to put it together, hence the 4 stars for assembly, but it gets 5 stars in all other categories. Taking it down was great, and took about 10 minutes, including rolling it up to fit back in the bag. I'm sure we will get the hang of it as we use it more. We have a Kia Sorrento, and the Cove fits on it great. Because we don't have a roof rack, we did a modification so the long straps wouldn't have to hook into the hinge of the hood, which is what is suggested by the manufacturer. We got two 300# fishing magnets (from Amazon) and put them on the roof of the car. Then we clinched up the long straps and put the hook into the loop on the magnet and it worked like a charm. Make sure to put something underneath the magnet so it doesn't peel up the car paint. The overhang is just right for 2 camp chairs to fit under it, so if it had rained a little we would have stayed dry. It was really nice to sleep up off the ground! There had been heavy rain the night before we arrived at our camp site and if we had been in a tent, we would have been in awful mud, so this SUV tent serves its purpose just fine!

Perfect for the Tesla Model S
This SUV tent works perfectly on the Tesla Model S. I haven't tried it in the rain, but it looks like it should work great. It's easy to set up. 15 min the first time, 6 min every time since. It has a privacy screen that can be rolled down to reveal a bug screen, (that too can also be rolled down). The only modification I've made, was to wrap tape around the sharp edges of the support pole. Now it slides into the tent grove smoothly and easily. The tent stores back into the bag easily and fits in the bottom trunk with lots of extra room for other stuff. I Highly recommend, especially if you want to spend a small amount of money to try camping in your Tes for the first time. The wonderful things about Tes camping is you can run the AC or Heater all night long (without fumes or bothering anyone) with a roaring fire on the center display. (I burn about 25 miles of range overnight with the AC on, for reference). Overall, I really like this tent, it's easy to store, easy to setup/tear down. It provides great privacy and or bug protection. Great product!!!

Easy, practical hatchback tent.
Works as expected, and fits a 2014 Prius. It was easy to set up, even in the dark. It gives you enough room to sit up and move around a bit, and it also gives you a little more leg room. It's not luxury, but if you want luxury you probably shouldn't sleep in your car. Right now, I'm happy with the purchase. Update: This tent will not hold up in an extreme storm. Last night I was camping when a flash thunderstorm with 40-50 mph winds hit. The tent did not hold up well in extreme wind; the awning turned this thing onto a sail and left the open hatch completely exposed. I had to close the hatch to keep water from pouring in. My brother's $80 Coleman tent held up fine however. In mild to medium kind of rain and wind, this tent has done fine. But an extreme storm renders it useless. Maybe some high powered magnetic strips would have helped, but be aware of the weather before setting up. I have also realized it's not 100% bug tight, and there are a few spots by the awnings pole bases where bugs can get in. I dropped the review from 5 stats to 3 after this update. This tent would be a much better deal if it was about half the price.

A must buy!
Easy to assemble. Practiced several times before going out and had a good routine. For the tent portion, 5 minutes with each of us on either side. Shade tent poles a pain to get in and arch but, ta-dah! As you see in the pictures we added some bungee cords to tighten it up. Stayed tight to the car even in moderate wind. We didn’t know they came in different sizes. A little big for the PT Cruiser but with finagling, pretty much a perfect fit. I posted a couple of pictures so you could see how well the hatch corners were protected. Great shade cover. Because of the strong wind at night where we are, we took the polls out of the shade cover and as you see in photo, just crossed and tied the cords. Kept us tight and secure. This of course would not work if you were needing to get out of the back hatch. We used the side doors. Love the screen netting. Allowed airflow to keep cool and at night, no mosquitoes!! Yay!! Getting a different car next year and definitely will be purchasing another one of these, the correct size. Just know you can make it work if you have ordered one too big. Everyone was quite impressed at the park and had to check it out. No more sleeping on the ground! Happy wife. Happy hubby. Oh, I don’t have the height to put it on by myself, but I easily tore it down and put it back in its case in less than 5 minutes.

Great alternative to traditional tent camping
Size purchased: Small to Mid-Size CUV's and SUV's Car: 2018 Prius C hatchback Overall: I really like the Napier Cove. It definitely has a tent vibe, but I feel more secure and protected from the elements than I do in a tent. Pros: -Quick and easy to setup/takedown -Thoughtfully designed with adjustable straps and snug fittings. I don't have a cargo rack, but the tent comes with long straps that can attach in front. -The awning provides enough coverage for two chairs outside the door. -Rain proof (I've camped during two rain storms with absolutely no leaking) -Keeps flying insects out (zero issues with mosquitoes, moths, or flies getting in) -Adds about 10 inches of leg room and extra headroom at back of car (my Prius interior is snug, so this extra space to move around and stretch out is needed) -Good ventilation and views out the window. -Feels private (the screen door also has an additional flap for protection and privacy) -Lightweight, easy to carry/store -Looks nice Cons: -Because I have a smaller car, the tent overlaps my back doors on the sides. I am unable to use those doors once it's up and can really only enter/exit through the screen door. From the photos others have posted, this does not seem to be an issue for everyone. -You'll have to take down anytime you want to drive your car. I typically camp with another person so we use their car for day trips. -I have had some issues with crawling insects (mainly daddy longlegs) making their way in. I believe they were coming from the area around the wheel wells, and once I adjusted the fittings and cinched up the gaps, they stopped coming in. Suggestions: -Set up your interior before putting the tent on the car. I've found this to be more efficient, especially since I can't open my back doors once it's in place. -Use string lighting or some other marker on the guide wires to lessen tripping hazards -Magnets can be used to secure any gaps or loose areas between the tent and car -The tent covers the exhaust so don't start your car for heat or air conditioning.
