This is my fav so far among the mixes available.

It is delicious and has a wonderful flavor BUT make sure you do taste tests before you follow any recipe exactly! Because IT IS HOT! Not just kinda hot, but holy hell what did I just put in my mouth kinda hot!!! Value for the money is pretty amazing because this package will last my entire life time and if I had children they would be able to leave it to their children!Consider yourself warned!

I’ve purchased 2 bags of this now, it’s so good! I use it to make a spicy lamb stew and it is phenomenal. It’s also great on chicken and pork (and eggs!). It does have some heat, so if you can’t handle much, it might not be for you. I find the heat level to be nice. My husband, who can’t take as much heat as I can can still eat and enjoy this. The spices taste very fresh. I will definitely purchase more as this has become a staple spice in my kitchen.

I love spicy food. This spice is very good, and different than any I have had before. However, don't believe the reviews that say it's not spicy enough. I like Mexican and Asian food to be sweat-inducing spicy. I made an Ethiopian dish that called for 1/4 cup of this spice. I used a little less, so my husband could eat it. This was at the very limit of what I could tolerate. Any spicier, and I wouldn't have been able to taste the food - only the spice. My poor husband tried gamely to eat it, but had to give up after about 1/2 serving.

This spice blend is excellent - the flavor and balance are really wonderful. I use it a lot on potatoes, sweet potatoes, other root vegetables, or eggplant, and it's good on meats as well, when cooking for two I use between a teaspoon and tablespoon, depending on the spice level I want. Do note that it includes sea salt, so adjust accordingly (I make food bowls, with a whole grain such as saffron brown basmati rice, with sweet potatoes, mushrooms, onions, sautéed kale, and fresh tomato and avocado, typically with 1-2 teaspoons of this, I don't add any other salt, and it's fine for my low-salt taste preference).

There is a generous amount of spice in the package. However, it is not like the Berbere seasoning I tried elsewhere once, that had a very blended flavor with only SOME heat and turned veggies like cauliflower and broccoli into something I wanted to inhale. This blend is super, super heavy on cayenne pepper (the color should have been a giveaway). So be warned that this one has a lot of heat. I am going to try to add in some cumin at some point but honestly this is not the flavor I expected to find....I will like as not be trying to find another.

I bought another brand Berbere on amazon and it had no heat or flavor whatsoever! Now, this is authentic Berbere I know. With this spice powder, my Ehtipoian recipes come out better than any Ethiopian restaurant food I tasted! I will be a repeat customer.
