Bought this torch on spec as (i) it's on offer & so is cheap (as these things go), (ii) it has a Cob light setting which is very useful when rummaging around in the loft, and it can recharge USB devices. It's not too long so (just about) fits in a jacket pocket, and doesn't weigh too much. It has a metal/alloy body and is waterproof, so it's pretty robust, and has a neat little lanyard. There's a 3@AAA adaptor included, along with a 50cm USB-A to USB-C lead. Firing it up, it's painfully bright on the default "high beam". The Cob (side) light is pretty good; you just fire it up by double clicking the power button and point the torch face down, using the lens/front as a stand. The side light has a red option, which is less bright but useful at night. Unsure I'd ever need the strobe light effect, but the slow flashing red side light (about once per second) could be useful if your car breaks down -- hopefully I never need to use that. I ran the light on the default high beam, and it fades to dim after about 2-3 hours (when it's down to one of the four battery charge level lights on). It seemed to take about an hour to recharge. It confused me, so here's how you charge other devices and how your recharge the torch. Under a square rubber flap opposite the power button/charge state lights, there is a USB-A socket and next to it a USB-C socket. You plug in other devices into the bigger USB-A socket to charge them. You plug a charger into the smaller USB-C socket to re-charge the torch. Upsides: It works, its relatively small, it's waterproof, it is bright enough, and it has a side light. Minor Downside: I have no idea where the company gets the idea that this torch lasts for 12 hours -- it sure doesn't on high beam, which is unsurprising as it has a 3AH battery. However, given it does last 2-3 hours on high before going dim, and having a smaller capacity battery does mean it charges faster, that's no big deal, for me at least. Amazon sell flat top 26650 batteries, as does a certain flea infested bay web site. Those are your friend if you want either higher capacity 26650 flat top batteries, or just for spares. Personally, this is fine for me so I don't need them, but YMMV. All in all a good buy. I like it.

The torch came fully charged and has indicator lights to tell you when it needs charging. The main light has a good spread or a long beam and the side cob light has a white or red light, one of the red lights flash, which would be helpful if the car breaks down. For that reason I will keep it in the car and it can be brought indoors if we get a power cut. I haven't charged it yet, so I don't know how long it takes or how long the battery lasts before it needs charging. But so far I am impressed with it's performance and the price paid. I would recommend this torch.

Purchased this torch for work as I often find myself in the middle of the English countryside at night. Sick of using a pathetic little torch work provided or my phone's torch so I got this. This torch is amazing. It's super bright, has a wide area cone by default and can be focused into a small beam for longer range. Its side light is also very handy, especially the red light which can be a lifesaver in emergencies. It charges quick and holds its charge for about 8 hours or so, which can be extended to about 12 hours by using the low brightness mode instead of full bright. In addition, it can also serve as a power bank for emergencies should your phone be low on battery. It's by no means high capacity, so it wouldn't serve as a primary pawer pack. But it's good to have that peace of mind. In your hand it feels heavy and well built. No parts of it rattle and it overall feels durable and well constructed. For the price I feel this should be essential for households. Especially if you end up driving a lot, I can see this torch being a lifesaver. The red light mode (which can strobe as well) could easily alert other drivers if you are in trouble and have a breakdown in the pitch black. It's a great tool to have and the seller is very prompt and professional. As another reviewer has said, make sure you unscrew it and remove the plastic cover from the battery. Otherwise it won't work. The product also came in basic, hassle-free cardboard package that is easily recycled. I cannot recommend it more and would buy it again.

I would have liked to have given a good review for this item, as the overall quality seems good. However, after checking it was working, and fully charged, I put it to one side for use in case of a power cut etc. After a few weeks I found the torch would not work unless it was plugged in to the charger. I have tried a good few times to charge the battery, but without success. I can only conclude that the battery is not holding any charge, and is faulty. (replacement batteries of this type seem impossible to get) As you can appreciate, a torch that will only work when it is plugged in, is as good as useless. Unfortunately, by the time I found it to be faulty, the Amazon month return window had passed. Very disappointed!!

I bought this for my job in security. I am really pleased with the brightness the torch gives. Its a nice touch the zoom feature although it's only a slide of the lens. Its handy for when you want to direct the light to a small area. When I first used this I was in the back bedroom pointing the torch out of the window out towards the garden in the evening. So happened to catch a fox playing with a toy. The zoom beam of light pinpointed the fox only and I could observe what it did without glowing up the rest of the garden. The fox wasn't fazed by the light. Another great feature is the torch battery can act as a power charger. Plug any device with the micro USB to power a phone etc. Unfortunately doesn't do type c-charger or lightning charger for iPhone. There are numerous settings, bright, dimmer and strobe. With a quick double click of the power button operates the side light which also has bright and dimmer settings for each press. Will also do the light in red and another red flashes for sos. Drawback so far is that it's a bit weighty for its size. Even though it fits in your pocket easily, if you're like me and don't like having heavy items in your pockets, this can be annoying. I like to keep it in my to jacket pocket instead. Overall I would recommend.

Good size, well packaged and made. Arrived swiftly and in excellent condition. Nice and bright with multi modes, just as described. Very straight forward and love the fact it doesn't need ongoing batteries and shows power level remaining. Can be used as short term power bank to charge phone on odd occasions which will be very handy. Might get another to leave in the car too!
