This is a great affordable hair straightener. It feels durable - I’d feel comfortable tossing it in a suitcase for a week, but it is still lightweight, which makes styling easy. It has 5 heat settings from 320°F to 460°F. My wavy hair straightens nicely at 390°F, 430°F works well for curling the ends, and I use the highest setting for full curls. It performs well and looks sleek. This straightener glides through my hair with ease - avoiding tugging and breakage. It also came with a travel pouch and heat glove, which is a nice bonus. My only complaint is the power button—it’s on the inside, so you have to unlock and open it before turning it on. Not a huge issue, just a bit inconvenient.

I’ve had this flat iron for at least a couple of years if not longer, and it’s still working well! Doesn’t pull my hair at all. Heats quickly. I don’t use it for curling, but that’s because my hair just doesn’t curl well with anything.

The unboxing of flat iron was an experience in itself. I can honestly say it’s been years since I’ve seen such care and detail in packaging. The iron was inexpensive comparatively to most on the market so I didn’t get my hopes up. But wow, was I ever pleased. The iron is solid and well made. No loose nobs etc. it heats instantly and only the ceramic iron portion. The rest stays cool. I’ve only used it on the lower settings but it works quickly and smoothly. I’m very impressed and will recommend. They also included detailed instructions, tips and a note of complete faith in their product.

6 MONTH UPDATE: I have been using this as a secondary styling iron since late December/early January, and it is now broken. The cord popped out while in use. It appears as though the cord just plugs right back in but it doesn’t. There is a plastic base around the bottom of the lock piece that looks as if the plastic just wore down? My husband tried to fix it and even when he just held the cord inside, the temperature lights flashed on before turning off. It has not powered on since, nor does the cord stay attached to base. Considering this is the youngest heating tool I’ve had die out, I would advise against purchase. It could be a manufacturer defect, or previously used (which might explain why, as stated in my first review—this iron, despite my hair care routine and protective products leaves a foul burning smell on my hair). All in all, this flat iron could be perfect but….it falls very flat. FIRST REVIEW: Okay, first — this flat iron is mostly great. I am biracial, with very frizzy curls and tend to style it straight or with waves. This is one of the best designs I’ve tried as far as curling for a loose wave and love how I can style my curtain bangs with it. This is one of the very few flat irons I’ve used in my life that DOES NOT pull or snag your hair out. Usually to some degree between the flat iron plate and the top of the iron, hair would somehow snag between them. I do not have that issue at all with this one. It’s incredibly smooth and wonderful. However. I have had this flat iron since late December and since day one in using this - I’ve had a very burnt hair smell ONLY when using this straightener. With my main straighteners I never have had this problem because at 31 - I have a hair routine. I don’t style without heat protectant ever. Etc etc. But even when I power this thing on no matter what heat setting it’s on, there is a very strong scent of burnt hair before it even touches my hair. Even the top part of my iron has begun to blacken and wear off after only 4 months of use. It feels important to mention my hair is not color treated. The only times my hot hair tools have ever changed color was years ago when I would box dye my hair so it seems unusual to me now. All in all, despite the smell it leaves in my hair and having to cover it as best I can with my products I still love the way it makes my hair look and until I can find one exactly like this that doesn’t make me paranoid everyone is capable of smelling my hair to the degree I do I’ll probably keep using it to style my hair when I know I’ll be washing it that night.

I accidentally ordered a different curling iron so I compared this one with the other one, the ESYEST Flat Iron Hair Straightener with Infrared Light Therapy, 1 Inch Professional Ceramic Straightener. I loved the color of the Bekind, as well as the size and shape and price at 39$. Bothe flatirons had a very good cord length. Both came with a few accessories, which I don't really need. My hair is very fine and prone to flyaway, floating hair. I used 1 on the right side and one on the left side of my hair. I set each at about 300. The Bekind on 320, the ESYEST at 300, the closest match I could get. The Bekind glided through my hair like butter. The ESYEST did not glide quite as smoothly, however, there was less of a gap between the plates, allowing me to keep the iron in contact with my hair on the pass through. Both sides appeared to be on the verge of flyaway ends, yet neither side took off. I did use a bit of argan oil on the ends of both sides before using the irons. I held each flatiron closed and up to the light. I could see a sliver of a gap in the Bekind and almost no gap in the ESYEST flatiron. This may attribute to the Bekind gliding through my hair more easily. I am not a diva, however I can't stand fine, frizzy hair. The minute there is moisture in the air, my hair fizzles right up. My many years old Remington flatiron finally quit working. My partner is not one to notice slight hair differences, however, he definitely noticed that the ESYEST side was definitely smoother than the Bekind side. One caveat, the ESYEST does not have too many variations of low settings. It is 300 or 350. I am a bit disappointed. That said. I will be returning the Bekind. My hair is visibly smoother using the ESYEST flatiron. I am thankful for my happy accident. Otherwise, I don't think I ever would have known there was a marked difference, had I not seen a side by side comparison. The Bekind was prettier and the price was better. I would rather pay a bit more for something which works better as I use it on a regular basis. Like others have said, I really wanted to like this one. That said, I will be returning the Bekind.
