Mr. Pen- Hot Glue Gun Finger Protectors, 24 pcs, Silicone Thimble Finger Guard for Hot Glue

I sometimes get fingertip splits during the winter or while working on garden projects, particularly index and middle fingers. It is difficult to heal these splits because typical band-aids continually need changing after washing dishes or even brief exposure to wet surfaces. Also, tRying to bandage a fingertip often requires more than one (in criss-cross fashion) in order to keep them from sliding off in the first place. I hate wasting expensive bandages this way. I searched around for all of the thinner latex finger cots designed for this purpose, but found nothing that satisfied my desire for something less disposable and more durable during use. I somehow found these while browsing, and even though I do use a hot glue gun from time to time, I know FOR SURE now that these also work great as a more permanent solution for protecting painful skin cracks while attempting to let them heal closed. They also allow me to work through the day, and I can easily take them on/off to allow the finger to breathe for 'dry' activities. I used the middle size on my index finger in the shower this morning, even scrubbing my scalp, and this finger guard not only stayed in place (down to my 2nd knuckle), but afterward the entire covered area was dry afterward. No leaking, no slipping, and still able to use the finger normally. As I am typing this review, I have it on and it does not double-type like the bandaging I had on yesterday. I am over the moon now with these, love that I have 8 colors to coordinate, and that each color nests within each other. This is one of my most functional and economical recent purchases on Amazon, and as a new Prime member, I received them on the same day I ordered them. I do have a few other products by Mr. Pen, so I had confidence to believe these had a good chance of being just what I desired for decent longevity. Very happy buyer here! :)

I'm glad I bought these. There are different sizes included so you can find the ones that fit on your fingers tightly. They are thin enough so you don't really notice that you're wearing them. I wish I had these years ago - nothing ruins a good craft day like leaving pieces of your flesh on the end of a hot glue gun nozzle. They are awesome - glue doesn't stick to the silicone & literally saves your skin.

Got these to help me get grip when I'm counting out money/papers at work. They work great! But....because of the thickness I can't get a feel for how many papers I just counted out (for example, bingo cards are thinner than normal paper and they stick together during counting, so if I count them out and they are stuck together I can't feel that with these on but I can wirhout them). They work great for hot glue gun protection and for lots of stuff, but for this one specific thing....not so much haha.

Use these for holding onto small parts that need to be ground down. Pros: * Good grip. Parts don't slide out of my fingers when I'm grinding. * Heat resistant. Parts heat up fast while grinding. These protect better than other options. * Strong - I've tagged the grinding wheel with these on, & they get scuffed, but don't disintegrate. * Re-usable & washable. Dirty work, but I just wash up with them still on, then peel off once clean. * Fit = mostly good. 5'5" female fits the bigger tips well, with only the pinkies being too tight. * Feel = allows you to actually feel the parts in hand. I can pick up small screws, etc, without removing. * Comfort = Less sweating than whole latex gloves, so I can work longer. Cons: * Fit = mostly good for women. Pinkies are too tight for me, & men wouldn't likely fit many at all. Overall: I kinda choked on the price, but now that I've been using them for a while, I think they're worth it, & I'd buy them again. The extra bit of bumps keep the hot stuff from burning, & it's way better than wearing latex gloves over my whole hand. Fingertips don't get as sweaty as whole hands, so you can work with these on longer, without getting sweaty fingers, which causes slipping. These are also snugger fitting, so no more wrinkles in the finger tips, like the gloves always have on me. They could be just a smidge thicker material, but for most occasions, these are pretty darned close to ideal.
