Very Detailed
Lots of graphs. Lots of statistical functions. And the overall message is: if you think you've got an edge over the market, you're probably wrong.I enjoyed his other books, but not this one.

A labour of love which all bookmakers should read.
First of all you must know that while this may not be the book that you wanted Joseph to write it is most definitely the book that Joseph needed to write and get out of his head and into the world. The passion for the subject matter is evident throughout and it seems clear to me that you are seeing several threads that he has been working on for years be finally tied together. Some of the symmetry between the various elements is incredibly satisfying to see finally be explained mathematically.I think there is something here for all bettors whether aspiring or professional and whether mathematically orientated or not. If the mathematics is too heavy to you I still think you can get the underlying message and if you want to become a better bettor there is no doubt that getting your mathematical skill to the level to understand all the maths will stand you in good stead. I recommend going through the book experimenting in Excel yourself with the various concepts. I find that the real value in the book is in getting my mind to think about things differently and shift various ideas I have had over the years into a different space and at times realise they overlap and I did not even realise it.Up until this point there has only really been one book written I am aware of about the actual methodology of bookmaking and that this the now fairly old Art Of Legging. Ironically for a book about improving bettor skill this might be the only other book that can make you a considerably better bookmaker. Limited audience for that obviously but I would recommend that all bookmaker "trading directors" should be forced to read this and prove they understand it and how the information can be applied in many areas of trading.I think the last chapter is possibly the best written in any betting book. For me the book is an exceptional piece of work and to the betting wonk like myself it will provide immense pleasure. For others it will leave them cold. I think that polarisation is often the sign of a truly worth piece of academia.
