Not like others
I very rarely review what I buy. When I do, it's either because something is really great - 5 stars - or really bad - 1 star; and then usually only after I have had something for a while to make sure it hasn't broken or fallen apart within the first 6 months.I'm making an exception here because I love this thing. I have other hot/cold packs; they're usually filled with some kind of gel. They all generally do the job, but are variously easy/difficult to keep in place where you want it.I like this one best because it's filled with seeds and because it stays in place without my needing to wrap an uncomfortable elastic strap to keep it there. There are three things that are nice about the seeds: one, they are not liquid so the material that holds them doesn't have to be plasticky and impermeable. It's breathable and soft instead, fleecy but thin. This means that the moisture in the seeds can come through, which helps to distribute the heat. Two, the seeds get warm evenly and don't seem to ever get too hot, which is a downside of the gel stuff. Three - and this was a nice surprise - when you warm this up, it gives off a lovely earthy smell - like oatmeal. It reminds me of of my grandma, and it is soothing - just what you want when you're trying to reduce pain. The shape and size make it so that you can wrap it around your neck and it'll stay there. You can also drape it over one shoulder and it'll stay there. You don't even need to engage the elastic. So I can go about my business around the house and it stays in place. This is important because the last thing you want is to be unconsciously using your muscles in order to keep it in place.I've gone to sleep with it wrapped around my neck. It was wonderful. I'd buy it again.

So soothing healing therapy
I am in love with this heat wrap. Using daily after surgery. It’s firm but soft you can rest your head or chin on it. So glad I got the XL is the right size for me on neck. 2 min in microwave it stays real toasty for solid 15 mins still warm enough to use to another body part another 15 mins. I use on lower back after neck. When first started using it had a faint chia seeds smell that seems to have gone away. Didn’t bother me just know the earthy sent. Now I don’t smell it anymore. The straps a bonus if you want it snug and tight or use on a limb. Cover is so soft like fleece I call it my snuggy. Bummer the cover can’t be removed and washed. I think the microwave heat keeps it clean. Really enjoying this neck wrap while recovering. Will definitely be using for regular aches and pains once I heal.

Works Well
Easy to use. Make sure to not overheat in microwave. Follow instructions. It seems like it doesn't get very hot, but it holds the heat for a long time - so it ends up working well.I would recommend it.

2 Different Sides Both Comfortable
I like the shape of this heating pad. I usually have a pulled muscle on either side of my back so I can easily place this on either shoulder and down the back, it stays in place. It works so much better than the style/shape I used for years. (kind of crescent shape). This also works well around the neck. I really like the fabric. One side is fleece, the other a cotton feel, nice, not too thin. God quality stitching so I don’t think I will have to be sewing holes. It did not have any awful smell out of the box (the other type I had used had to be left in the garage for an out 2 weeks). I originally was going to get one with 3 channels, but I got this 2 channel style. I am glad I did as I think the 3 channel would have hung over my shoulder. I am very happy with heating pad.

Interesting
I bought this blindly without reading any description about it- I hit order as it was recommended by my acupuncturist. Now that I’ve got it and used it, I can say this heating pad is really unique and interesting. It’s soft and very comfortable, however there is definitely a strong scent attached to it that cannot be ignored . I would say it smells like warm rolled oats. The smell is a little strange but also weirdly ok. It says to put it in the microwave 1min then in increments of 10secs, and that if you have a smaller microwave it could take longer . I do have a smaller microwave- The first time I used it I ended up near 4 minutes, and I now generally put it for at least 2mins minimum when used. It’s a nice soothing thing to wear after work while unwinding. I suggest giving it a try, but you have to be okay with a strong smell of rolled oats while in use. When you put it for longer time it can even smell a bit like burnt popcorn a little bit. I do enjoying using it regardless, but I will say I don't believe the heat stays for as long as I would hope. After a few minutes the heat is gone. Still- its comfortable and I enjoy unwinding with it.

Just Ok
At the recommended microwave time it hardly gets warm. I have to put it 2-3 times longer than suggested for it to get hot enough to use. I do like the moist heat though. But it smells terrible after it’s heated! Can’t return it now since it’s used and I don’t have the packaging anymore. Fabric was nice and it seems well made though.

Well designed
This heating wrap was purchased to replace another microwaveable heating pad that was square shaped. This one is much more effective because it can be placed precisely where the soreness is occurring. Well done!

Review update: Soft neck wrap, but lacks heat
*** update: the customer service is excellent. I think it’s my personal preference and tolerance for heat, hence the original review and 3 stars. This product is designed with safety in mind and for that purpose, it does a great job of heating up as described. This heat/cold neck wrap is very soft and has good weight as described. My reason for the 3 star review is aimed at the product description, as it falls short of its promise. It does not heat well with 1 minute + 20 second intervals with max at 2 minutes, it is insufficient to be beneficial and holds warmth for only few minutes.
