great for cat5/cat5e. works great, and has not failed me yet. we will see when the season changes to summer.

As a newbie to wiring CAT5 I found these to be easier than the non pass through. A little tedious arranging the wires in order but that cannot be avoided. Take care of the correct order when inserting. Having to wire 20, I became a lot quicker with the more I did. It helps to strip the cable and cut all the wires flush with each other before inserting. This allows them all to pass through at the same time without any longer/shorter wires getting caught up. It's essential to use the right tool for the job. Us the multi tool that accomplishes it all in one go.

For 20 years I've been doing it the non-passthrough way. Now I know a connector is going to work! So much better and more reliable than the old way with no re-work! Just one watchout... If you have cat5 cable, only use pass-through cat5 connectors. If you have cat6 cable, only use pass-through cat6 connectors.

These worked perfectly for a large wiring project. Can't speak to the long-term durability yet, but have no reason to think they won't last.

It is easier to install, easier to correct miswires before the irreversible crimp. You should switch now.

Update - The second batch I opened worked perfectly. I'm assuming there was a manufacturing issue with the first batch and the seller is refunding that order.
