Beautiful hybrid razor
Shave with a cold water splashNo pre-shaveUsed Kenem X hybrid razor (balanced to medium aggressive hybrid comb) with Gillette Wilkinson sword Indian blade - amazing combination (for me).Note - blade on its 3rd use today.Razor - I have had my fair share of experiences with hybrid razors - Romer 7, Haibing, mis aligned, etc etc. They are either too mild or the spokes/ teeth of the open comb side of the razor are too sharp (if you miss the angle).Kenem X hybrid is a marvelous surprise. At 85 gms with a short (not a sharp handle but grippy), this absolutely hits the ball park. The open comb side is softer and yet comfortably efficient with practically no blade feel. The close comb side is sharper, offers great efficiency and audio feedback. The open comb prefers to keep mum.I chose to shave not worrying about open comb first or close but just like any other three piece razor. The shave was super enjoyable. There is no blade overhang and the blade sits well with zero requirement for an alignment. However, if needed, you could push the blade with your nail from one side. But I didn't need to. It did seem in the first go that I needed to but it wasn't needed. The blade clamps really well between the head and plate and there was no chatter. There is enough balance in the efficiency offered with not much blade feel and yet the close comb can take this to a medium level aggression but not a notch more.My only beef with this gorgeous piece of razor is the rust coat on the middle alignment tab. There were machine marks visible which made me wonder how old the razor was or maybe it was a used piece. It took me some time to really clean it up, oil it well (which I normally do with any razor before first use - three day wait).Additional pics uploaded.Earth rhythm spearmint frozen breath whipped shaving cream soap (super nice - cooling, minty and so so slick) applied using Pink Woolf resin handle shaving brush (natural - boar) - face lather.Note - I love whipped cream shaving soaps. They are soft and pliable. The trick, in my learnings is that the first coat, circular one results in frothy big foamy lather. You will judge the character of the cream. And then as you paste the lather, magic happens. That frothy turns into creamy slick paste of a lather.Slickness (during and residual) is close to a tallow soap and post shave moisturization can make my arko stick and sterling sample cower.Single combination pass and a touch upAlum block (some feedback here and there, around some stress acne on the neck)The post shave included application of Nivea deep impact after shave lotion (so classy and I will go off to sleep with this linger and hey, no burn today)A wow shave!Join the reddit group - Wetshavers_India
