Q: Does the black lycra insert go on top to the side or bottom when placing this brace on your elbow area? The instructions are lacking in details.

My Doctor told me to place it on the right side of arm, making assure that the wooden slat does not hit the bone on inner side of where elbow bends. I hope that this is helpful.

It's adjustable as needed (i.e. it opens up flat,and it can be wrapped around your arm), so this should fit you. I have a 13" bicep, and it works perfectly.
