Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia: 9781581345155: Ditchfield, Christin, Martindale, Wayne: Books Review: A Great Study Help for Families. Kid Friendly. - This is a very well put together book. The author has done families a very great service in the formation of this helpful guidebook. Many may be aware that C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia are a Biblical allegory, however just how deep the symbolism goes may be lost on the casual reader. This book uncovers the elements for readers in a bite sized format that aids in kid-friendly study. Each section to each Narnian tale is explained, connected to the Christian Bible, and then followed by a thoughtful “parallels and principles” section that follows a study question format. This good book is also not too long. It’s just thorough and long enough without trying to find what isn’t in the source text it explores. The author has allowed the source material to speak for itself and that’s appreciated for a guidebook that’s premise is to connect Narnia to the Christian Bible. This book belongs in the Christian’s library (behind the Chronicles of Narnia of course) Review: Recommend Highly - Great guide. Highly recommend

Great Resource to Connect Narnia with Relevant Scripture
This book is an easy-to-read guide connecting the Chronicles of Narnia with relevant scripture. This guide goes through each of the seven books, chapter by chapter, addressing key points in the chapter and connecting those points multiple passages in the Bible. This is a great resource if you want a deeper spiritual understanding of Narnia.

So good
I got this after loving the guide to The Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe. In response to another review, read the chapter in the book before reading the chapter that corresponds, in the guide. The biblical truths and parallels are so enriching in my study time with my kids! We love this! I got the entire collection. In response to another review, read the chapter in the book before reading the corresponding chapter in the guide. I think you’ll find that way there are no “spoilers.”

An incredible & challenging Study Guide to accompany C.S. Lewis' Narnia series
I'm just getting started with this. This is not something to do as a "quick read"! In order to get the full depth, it must be done very deliberately, & a little at a time in order to digest the amazing beauty that this Guide illuminates of Lewis' Narnia series. I highly recommend reading this "Guide" together with each Narnia book to obtain the awesome riches hidden there. I never recall reading this incredible series, so my method will to be to read one book (in order), then read & study the accompanying Truth as expounded by Ditchfield. He has a brief, but DEEP study of each book, chapter by chapter. In that way I will work my way through this amazing challenge to learn so much more of the countless gems hidden in God's Word, & as presented in the unique way of CS Lewis, along with the "Study Guide" presented by Chrisin Ditchfield. A must-have for any serious student of God's Word!

It doesn't shove theology at you are make arguments. It's more of a non-pushy matter-of-fact tone.
I'm using it as a companion reader to a story I read as an adolescent. I have little interest in the theology or christianity as I'm a Muslim, but I'm very familiar with the Bible as I was raised Jewish which much of my family is. If you're familiar(you can recognize and paraphrase most of the stories of the top of your head) and want a commentary/companion reader, then this is your book. The tone is not pushy or argumentative. This is not apologetics or a diatribe, it's a commentary on a fantasy book written by a theologian in competition with the Lord of the Rings. I think it's aimed towards a family audience. However it does NOT assume the readers are stupid which is nice. The format is consistent throughout and the it's divided by book and chapter. There are very nice chapter and book summaries preceding the articles. There is a biblical trivia at the end of each. Example: ["Who also did such and such?" (Hint: biblebook:verse number)]

Highly recommend!
I am really enjoying this study! My small group of six women at church is currently reading the entire Chronicles of Narnia and using this study guide with it. There is a short one or two page study for each chapter of each Narnia book. Each chapter study includes Biblical parallels and principles from that chapter, which is inspiring, also a question, and Scripture look up. C. S. Lewis was a genius! As Wayne Martindale, professor of English at Wheaton College states in the forward of the book, “Jesus had Lewis’s heart, and Lewis’s head was filled with Biblical knowledge.” Note: This would also be an excellent study for a family to do together as they read through the Chronicles of Narnia.

Great book
This was an interesing read. I picked up on most of the Christian influences when I read the Narnia books, but this was good to fill in the ones I hadn't caught, as well as giving a slightly different look at some others in there. The addition of suggested scripture as well as specific scriptural parallels was nice to see. This is a great read that allows a deeper insight to Narnia.
