Q: Has anyone tried using this to do kettlebell-style swings? How did it work?

I've used the handles to throw it over my head, with no issues. As long as your feet are out wide enough, kb settings should work.

Q: Is this bag a true 100 pound bag?

It's sold empty, you load it with sand yourself. 100 pounds of sand will fit into it.

Q: Can you use beach sand?

I believe play sand is recommended but I am sure if you are going to use dry beach sand it would be fine temporarily.

Q: Can this sand be used in a patio umbrella base?

I see where you’re going with that, but I would say no, this is probably not the best for that application. The hole is designed to have sand placed in it and once it’s filled there really wouldn’t be a solid way to stabilize the umbrella.
