Must read for all over 45!
Dr Hegde is a neighbor and is also my Father's good friend. So I bought this book to encourage a new author. I started reading it yesterday and got totally hooked! Dr Hegde has covered various aspects of life after 60. As a person in his 40s, I have had this fear of getting old and becoming insignificant ... Reading this book gave me a lot of clarity on how life is when you grow old (while its not easy, it need not be too difficult!). My heartfelt thanks to Hegde sir for writing this! In parts this is a personal journey of the author from a small village in Sirsi (Karnataka) to different countries and gaining different experiences. In other parts, the author has spent considerable time and effort in sharing research on aging. Its a good mixture of research and anecdotes of some people who have lived a long and fulfilling life. Some of the nuggets of this boo:"It is observed that one lives longer, only when one stops trying to live longer"The author introduces the "Compression of morbidity" theory and gives tips and real life examples of actually achieving this!"most productive age in a man's life is 60 to 70"!! Fortune 500 CEOs average age is 63 ...It is inspiring to read that he enrolled into PhD at the age of 58 and was awarded Doctorate at 61!!Overall I highly recommend this book for anyone (male or female) above 45 ...

Good Book , must-read for all age group
This is a great book. With Dr. Hegde's experience and good research, the book has come out very well. He has mentioned several tips in the book for living a healthy life. One among them I like is six natural doctors (Self-confidence, sleep, sun, diet, exercise, and friends). The book explains how to live a healthy life in a simple way.Even though the book name is "Adding Healthy Years Beyond Retirement", it is a must-read book for all age groups.

Strongly recommended for 70 +
I compared myself with the author and learnt quite a bit. Fortunately, I am into music, reading, drawing n painting, proponent of organ donation and an excellent soulmate better half for company. The book helped to fill the gaps.

A real encyclopaedia of how to live a healthy life
Some of us have heard about how to live a healthy life from many doctors and physicians. Dr Ramachandra Hegde gives such true examples of how to live a healthy life with his own experience. Living the way the book is written. This was a nice eye opener for me and I enjoyed reading the book. Cheers!
