it's becoming one of my favorite collections so far
I'm already a fan of DDR, and this is more of the same. At first I wasn't so sure about the track list, but as I unlock more of the songs, it's becoming one of my favorite collections so far. Smooch V and KISS KISS KISS are irresistible, and a pleasing assortment of esoteric pop hits as well (Don't Go and Rocket are lazy favorites). There are several new songs on this collection too, of which I'm partial to many of them (especially Summer Fairytale and El ritmo te controla). My only complaint is that the difficulty is kind of random- the difference between "difficult" and "expert" on some songs is huge- making it kind of difficult for average or slightly above average (but not advanced) players to find a fun challenge, while some songs remain incredibly easy on every difficulty, but I suppose that's intended.I don't use any of the new modes that use the wiimote or nunchuck, just a standard dance-mat experience, and as usual it's very satisfying!

Great gameplay - may lack that "something special"
I really enjoy the gameplay, menu setup, etc in this latest installment. It's easy to get around, and I'm really happy they finally got rid of the hand controls which in my experience never, ever worked as intended. I love that they added in full-length versions of many songs, and I've noticed that going twice as long between breaks definitely intensifies the workout aspect of playing this game. Note that while most songs have both a short and a long version, not all of them do. Enough do that it's a great feature add, though. From a content perspective, it feels slightly uninspired. I'm still looking for that "super samurai" type song that makes me sweat for hours on end to try and defeat. There is a lot of focus on modern pop songs (especially with videos) and, while that is nifty at first, it gets old after a few runs. Plus how many Justin Beiber songs can I endure before I want to throw my Wii out the window?

Just like the first one
I am returning this also because it requires a dance mat and neither of the two I purchased work. A big disappointment.

This game is really hard
I thought I was getting myself something that I could use as exercise. Trying to follow these songs is very difficult, even though I have the hand motions turned off.

More flexibility for game play, but not many songs that make me want to dance.
First the pros. I own all USA release versions of the DDR games for the Wii platform. What I like about this is that options for game play is easier to navigate and it saves your preferences so that you don't have to enter those settings each time you play (like some of the earlier versions). Game play is easier when compared to the first release (where a score of A was harder to achieve, thus allowing for more grace when one is "very close" to being "perfect"). It has more features and more flexibility with the options for game play as well. One fun new feature is that it gives you the option to choose between standard play, a shortened version of the song, or full play. The shortened version was the only option in the 3 prior USA releases, so the full studio song option is a very nice feature. The cons: For me personally, there's not enough "fun" or "energizing" songs that make me want to dance. More recent artists include Selema Gomez (A Year Without Rain), Jason Derulo (In My Head), Ne-Yo (Beautiful Monster), Rihanna (Only Girl in the World), Bruno Mars (Just the Way You Are), Justin Beiber (Baby and Somebody to Love) Miley Cirus (Can't be Tamed), Willow (Whip My Hair), Nelly (Just a Dream), Natasha Bedingfield (Strip Me) and B.o.B (Nothin On You). "Old school" songs from the 80s include Yaz (Don't Go), Human League (Don't You Want Me Baby), Donna Summer (This Time I Know It's For Real) and New Edition (Candy Girl). Most of these songs don't speak to my personal taste, but others may enjoy. There's also the Konami songs, most that will be unlocked with game play.

Yea!
I have been enjoying this new release. It is like Hottest Party 3 in setup. There is no battle and no Wii Balance Board version. I have liked the music, especially, and it seems that there are songs that are not o overwhelmingly difficult but difficult enough so I can practice my moves to become better. I recommend this game to anyone facing a winter slump to re reenergize and dance to the music!
