A must-have accessory
Do you remember the days when a little button battery would power a film camera for several years? These days with WiFi, Bluetooth, large LCD screens, power zoom, etc we’re lucky if we can get through a day before the battery needs to be recharged. When you’re traveling and taking once in a lifetime pictures there is nothing worse than your camera battery dying and you have no way of charging it. It is almost a necessity to carry at least one spare battery with you. But as small as the batteries are, where do you put it?Fortunately almost everyone has a neck strap attached to their camera, or some similar strap. This battery holster slips on to that strap and holds one typical-size battery like most popular name brand cameras use. I know some people attach it to their own belt but what better place to make sure you don’t forget it than right on the camera strap itself?PROSThe holster is made of neoprene rubber, like a wet suit. That’s a good thing because it helps keep the battery safe from physical knocks and dings and helps keep it dry in misty conditions. But another benefit is that it helps insulate the battery from static charges which could actually destroy your spare battery. I like that it is made in the USA and is very reasonable which makes it a good value. It has a Velcro flap that keeps the battery from falling out but is easy to access. On that topic there is something about the design that at first I thought was strange … the loop that you slide over your camera strap (or belt) is on the same side as the closure flap. That makes it just a little more difficult to get to the battery. But then I realized that was actually an advantage, with the flap facing the camera strap it is far less likely that something could catch on the flap and risk the battery falling out. And with some batteries costing fifty bucks or more, that is a very real concern.CONSNot one … this is exactly what I was looking for and I am truly surprised this was the only one like it I could find anywhere. Now that I’ve seen it and used it for a vacation trip I’m getting a couple more of them for other cameras I own, even including some of my pro gear.

OP/Tech Battery Holster
The holster is compact, functional and easily and securily fits on to the camera strap. It holds the battery securely but a little too securely. As a suggestion, it could be a little larger to make the removal and inserting of a battery even smoother. Also, it would be helpful if the holder were a little larger for an additional reason: to allow the option of storeing a battery in the holder with its protective plastic case on the bottom of battery for additional protection. This would provide the user with the option of storing a battery in the holder with or without the plastic case. If the holder is a little larger for theses reasons there should be no concern with the battery falling out of the holder as there is a secure flap on the end of the holder. Overall the holder is pretty good for the price.

Good to store batteries for camera
Good to store batteries for my Sony camera. You will need to check the dimensions to make sure it will work for your camera. I'm sure other things can be stored in it as well. I like the well adhering velcro to keep the items put.

Handy little case
Have several of these for use with Nikon EN-EL15 series batteries. Holds one battery. Fits snuggly, closes tight, is not padded. Keeps battery clean and protects from rolling around in bag. Functionally does what it is supposed to do. Seems a little pricey for what it is, but the protection is worth it.

A velcro loop would make it easier to attach to a strap
This is a simple idea that pretty much works as advertised to carry batteries for my Pentax Q10 on its neck strap. It could also carry 2 or 3 CF cards or SD cards in their cases. My one complaint is that you have to thread the strap through the attachment loop. This means taking a few minutes to detach one end of the strap throm the camera, thread it through the loop, then reattach it to the lug on the camera. It is a somewhat tedious job with this camera and strap. I would rather that the loop closed with velcro or something, so I didn't have to mess with the strap. I have a similar holster for memiry cards on the other end of the strap, and it uses velcro for the mounting loop. (Of course, batteries are heavier than memory cards, but I don't think the weight is enough greater that a velcro- closed loop would be insecure.)

Great for Bridge Cameras
Being a minimalist, I shoot a bridge camera and no longer need to carry a big camera bag.i shoot using a camera holster and these battery holsters are fantastic. They allow me to keep my system and carry additional batteries attached to my camera straps. They are built well, do not slide all over the straps and stretch to accommodate the batteries.

TERRIBLE Design!
In order to put this on a bag or strap, you need to remove the strap from the camera which means you can't swap easily from camera to camera, or if like me you have a camera bag with a sewn-on strap, you can't use this item. They could simply have made the velcro strap so that you can open and close and easily put wherever you want. Terrible design. One star.
