This item is very cheaply made did not work at all for me
I don't like anything about the product, putting it together the jubilee klips are flimsy on tightening up,put the pipeIn my motorcycle petrol tank with no kinks ,want to drain it for a few months over the winter, pumped the bulb part as fast as I could but wouldn't expand back out ,tried moving pipe in tank to different places ,saw petrol twice rise up to lip of tank only to go straight back into tank ,didn't do anything to as it is described for purpose, but did me a good work out for my hands, should probably in my opinion be sold as a keep fit product as very good for working out your hands and wrists,I would give it 5 stars for that purpose, leaves your hands lovely and warm and tingly.

Could be improved.
A great, easy-to-use syphon pump. Large internal diameter pipe works fine, but I think it could be improved by using a braided hose as there is a tendency for the hose to narrow where it has been folded and thus, compromises the flow-rate and suction quality.

the pipe is crap
Got this to pump water from my bathroom shower down to my garden in order to use water twice and save more fresh water. I have had to re-write this review as the product just doesn't cut it!!The biggest problem is the clear pipe supplied, it is too flimsy. because it is a relatively soft pipe it is sucked in on itself and stops working pretty quickly - the problem appears to be that the gravity from the hose pipe tries to draw more water than the pump and pipe can handle so it just sucks in the sides of the pipe until it is closed. So, the pipe needs to be more rigid, like a hose pipe!!i have since removed the pipe between pump and hose, but the problem still exists from pump to bath using the clear hose provided. Now i have tried using only hose pipe [in place of the supplied pipe]. now this works better but sucks in the pump instead. i have found the best solution is to attach the pump only to a hose pipe directly, no pipe on the inlet end and simply plunge the pump itself directly into the water - this works but best but still sucks in the pump. the only way to stop this is to lift the pipe or pump out of the water very briefly, like 1 second, this allows air into the unit and will reflate both the pump and pipes [when still attached] but as soon as water is being drawn again the pipe and pump get sucked in.the idea of the unit is sound, and i can get it to work by using pump and hose pipe only BUT this is not how it was intended to work. And i still have to lift the pump out the water to let air in and reflate the pump a few times!!The bathroom window is probably 4 mtrs above ground level, that is about 3 mtrs from ground level to 1st floor level and a further mtr from 1st floor level to window ledge level. it is like the pressure of gravity pulling the water is too much for pump and pipes so it creates an internal vacuum that sucks the pipe in on itself thus sealing it and prevent further water flow.great idea but in practice it is a bag of crap!!

Weak and problematic tubes
This isn't a terrible product as it can do what it is designed to do. However, although the suction bulb seems fine the weak tubing kinks too easily and either restricts or stops flow altogether. Hence great care is needed when using it. It would easily get four or five stars if it came with tubing that had thicker side walls and was a bit stiffer

Don’t waste your time & money
Absolutely rubbish. Firstly there are no instructions on how to use this which is OK if you know how this is supposed to work(thankfully my husband did although he did say the arrows were the wrong way round!) but not great if like me you haven’t got a clue. It takes quite a bit of pressure to squeeze the pump which again wasn’t good for old hands with joint pain. When we finally managed to get it to work is was nothing more than OK, certainly not the wow I was expecting. The second day I tried to pump some water out of a bowl into a watering can to no avail. No matter what I did it just wouldn’t pump any water out so I gave up. The hose is nasty cheap plastic with kinks as it comes flattened and rolled up which made the initial use of the pump difficult so we ended up using a small piece of hose from our own hosepipe. Although I’d read the reviews I was swayed by the good reviews but should have paid more attention to the bad ones.

Works well.
Used to get ad blue out of 200ltr drum. Works well but needed to weight hose down so that it reaches lower down the drum. Should be more durable than the previous hand pumps purchased.
