Ceramic Handy Gourmet Cool Touch Microwave Bowl

I love this bowl! I eat at my desk at work a lot (ok, all the time) but carrying hot bowls back from the kitchen is risky, at best. I also don’t like the idea of using plastic in the microwave...I don’t know for sure if it is safe, but ceramic is definitely safer.This bowl has it all: ceramic to hold the food and safely heat it up (even stuff like tomato sauce that will is a disaster in plastic), the lid is a great splatter screen to keep from having to waste precious lunch minutes scrubbing a nasty microwave, and the plastic holder is amazing with the thumb handle on one side and then a small additional handle to further stabilize carrying.I have a roll of food wrap that I can put over the bowl and under the lid to store leftovers for the next day. Now I can make my soup, stew, Mac and cheese, pasta, or whatever and bring it to work and safely heat it up for a delicious and healthy lunch. Washing it is a breeze and storage in my desk drawer is simple.I might have to see about getting another one of these for home when I want to sit on the couch and eat my dinner...

I use this thing daily! I live alone and eat most my meals in front of a screen in a t-shirt and my underwear. As we all know the microwave heats your bowl first and your food last and.even then often just the edges get hot with the center still cold. With this plastic gizmo I can get my food piping hot and not burn my legs holding it to eat. My microwave is on top of my fridge and a little over my head. I always worried about spilling hot liquid on myself. The handle on it allows me to safely get stuff out even without hot pads or gloves without worrying about a scalding spill.I also like that I can use other bowls like some others have mentioned in their reviews and they fit perfectly. The little lid snaps snugly in place and stops those hard to clean spatters and is so handy to use. Overall I think the two plastic pieces would be well worth the price even without the bowl.Last night I discovered it not only insulates be from hot bowls but cold as well. Works perfect for ice cream. OK so sometimes it takes me a bit to connect the dots but this thing is fantastic.

I LOVE this bowl. It is perfect for soup and I can easily carry it. Only problem is the bowl is slippery when soapy and I broke the one I had for years. But I immediately ordered another one. Great product. Highly recommend.

Love this bowl. Have purchased it before, and it comes in handy with so many items to heat in the microwave.

This is the third time I bought this product, this time I got two. They are so great for eating hot food on the sofa, the outer bowl keeps you from getting burned and the handle works so well. Treat yourself, get it!

False advertisement! It's not 'Cool Touch' microwave bowl. I purchased this bowl in 2019, and loved it. But since then I broke it. So I purchased the new one and noticed the blue plastic bowl was not a thick as the older one. And the ceramic bowl doesn't fit snugly in the plastic bowl. I microwaved soup in it and it was so hot to touch, I dropped it on the floor as I was not expecting it to be hot. They made the plastic bowl cheaper, and therefor it's no longer a 'COOL TOUCH MICROWAVE BOWL' . FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. AMAZON SHOULD TAKE THIS OFF THEIR SITE!

Good microwave safe ceramic bowl with a plastic holder and plastic lid. I enjoyed this for about a week before it fell off of our coffee table and broke. It works great at what it's designed for... microwaving food without burning your hands or making a mess. My only real complaint is that the ceramic bowl doesn't fit in the plastic very well and kind of rattled around while I was handling it. Not a huge problem, but the rattling around made it feel less stable while I was handling hot food, which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.For those wondering how it works, you put the food in the ceramic bowl, then put the ceramic bowl in the blue plastic holder and place the lid on top. Then you put the whole thing in the microwave. The plastic doesn't melt (either the lid or the blue plastic holder), and your food cooks inside a ceramic bowl instead of a plastic one. I know a lot of people have concerns about plastics leeching into their food while cooking in the microwave, so the point about it being a /ceramic/ bowl holding your food is important.As a side note, and not an impact on the number of stars I gave this bowl: it's kinda fragile. The bowl fell off of my coffee table which is only 2ft high, and landed on soft carpet. All three parts broke. The lid broke at the plastic tabs, the ceramic bowl broke in half, and the plastic handle broke off of the blue plastic. Make sure you handle it gently. Again, falls are not what it was designed for (even short falls, onto carpet) so I still gave it 4 stars and ordered another.

I never write reviews, but I felt I needed to do so for this product. It's a fantastic product for the microwave. The porcelain bowl with the food gets hot, but not the plastic bowl it sits in. You just heat your food and take it out of the microwave--no more oven mitts or dish towels needed to protect your hands. It has handles so you can eat from it while standing up, watching TV, etc. You can also use any of your own bowls that fit within the plastic bowl. This is such a great product idea. Great for a gift too---who wouldn't use this? Seriously, buy this and you won't regret it. I wish this product was offered with a bulk discount---I would buy many of them for friends and family.
