MakerFocus DIY Robot Car Smart Chassis Kit with Speed Encoder 4 Wheels 2 Layer for Ar duino UNO MEGA2560 MEGA1280 51 Microcontroller Board

I used this base kit to build an autonomous robot car using Arduino and motor controllers (separately purchased). Instructions for assembly are simple to follow. Motor wires do require soldering but is relatively easy. If this is your first soldering project - be sure to watch some excellent youtube videos before trying. You may have to swap motor wires to get the direction of rotation right.Overall an excellent DIY project for the beginner.Some tips for drilling holes in the acrylic base where needed to mount circuit boards or servos. I stuck blue painters tape on both sides of the base and marked the spot for the holes, used the smallest drill bit first and then gradually increased the size until I got to the needed size. I keep the drill at a low speed. and cleaned out the waste in between. Going too fast on the drill will cause too much heat and melt the acrylic. Holes came out smooth and clean! I was able to mount my circuit boards, servo, voltmeter and all necessary components on the kit acrylic base (all those components were separately purchased).Makerfocus provides excellent customer service above and beyond the usual call of duty. Very responsive! One of my motor holder retaining clips broke - I had overtightened the motor holder screws just a bit too much. Makefocus was kind enough to send me a replacement!All in all, I highly recommended this kit as a base for building robot car projects!

This robot kit was just what I was looking for. It was easy to assemble and will work for my student projects.I am showing a picture of the upgraded wheels that came with the kit.

I actually couldn't help but scratch the plastic and in some areas the covering could only be removed by scraping into the plastic. Pretty cool otherwise.

So good for DIY smart cars with ESP32 cam module and H-Bridge controller.

I used this one for my school project. This was much bigger than I expected. It was really easy to setup. I recommend this for robot project.

Comes as advertised. Instructions could be clearer but there are plenty of videos online showing how it goes together.

The plastic pannel is fine. Everything else is wrong. The picture is misleading: the brass columns are actually plastic, the tires are not upgraded. They are the same quite as the 'old' tires, the motor wires are not soldered, the motors are also greasy for some reason. This is a $10 kit at best.
