I purchased this steamer to cook dumplings that were sent to us as a gift. I had never used a bamboo steamer before. This one is large and spacious and sturdy. It fit over the top of a large soup pot that I filled about 1/4 full of water. I had two types of dumplings that cooked for two different times. I filled one level with dumplings and steamed them first half way through their cooking time. I then put that level basket on top of the second basket and continued steaming until both were ready. All the dumplings came out perfectly cooked. The steamer basket is very easy to use and easy to rinse and wipe out when finished.

It is a cute little bamboo steamer for small jobs. It doesn't steamer as well as the large ones. Trying to find the right size pot that it can sit on top of the pot instead of inside the pot.

It's a bamboo steamer and does what it's supposed to. The 8 inch is good for most things you'll be steaming regularly for one or two people. The only problem I have with it is that it's coming apart after only 4 uses. I was going to try doing home made Mantou in this but with it falling apart already that's not happening. It's just going to be a 1 tier steamer now I guess.

Great set. In the pictures it looks a little flimsy but when I opened the package I was surprised at how sturdy and big it was. Made vegetables and they turned out great. I bought the paper liners and cleanup was a breeze. If you have a small kitchen and little storage you should think twice before getting them because they use a lot of space. I bought 2 of the 10” and they are plenty big.

These are nice steamers, but they are kind of shallow for steaming buns.
