Works. Would Buy Again if Needed
I picked one of these up for a Gen 1 X1 Carbon I got for free so that I could output video on my monitor. This one was pretty cheap(although not the cheapest option). The adapter feels solid like its good quality. I haven't tried it at 4k because I dont have a 4k monitor but it definitely outputs a higher resolution than 1080p. I would buy this again if I needed another adapter.

Great item
I recently picked up the IVANKY 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, and I have to say, it’s been a game changer for my setup. As someone who frequently connects my laptop to various monitors and projectors, this adapter has truly impressed me. The 4K resolution at 30Hz is just beautiful. Whether I’m streaming a movie or giving a presentation, the clarity and color are vibrant. I’ve noticed how much better my visuals look compared to other adapters I've used in the past. You can feel the quality when you hold it. The gold-plated connectors and braided cable not only look sleek but also seem to promise durability. I appreciate that I don’t have to worry about it breaking down after a few uses. Its compact design fits easily in my laptop bag. I love how I can just grab it and go without worrying about extra bulk. Overall, I’d highly recommend the IVANKY 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. It’s been reliable for me, and I’ve had no issues whatsoever. If you need a dependable way to connect your devices, this one is definitely worth considering.

Decent quality adapters for the 4K60hz. Gold plated connections to resist corrosion.
Works good and has gold plated connections. This is a good value for the 4K@60hz. I'm using this for pc to tv, with HDMI cable in between.

Easy solution for older macbooks and displays
This little adapter has been living in my laptop bag for a while now. I mostly use it when I need to connect an older MacBook to a monitor or projector, and it’s handled every situation without giving me any trouble. The build quality both looks and feels good, and the connector fits firmly — not hard to plug in, but definitely not loose. I’ve used it for presentations, videos, and basic work screens, and the display has always been stable with no flicker or sudden disconnects. For something small and simple, it works exactly as it should and has been dependable so far.

Reliable 4K@60Hz on Thunderbolt 2 Macs — with an interesting twist
I’ve been using the IVANKY 4K Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter on a 2013 Mac Pro (Thunderbolt 2), and it does exactly what it claims. It delivers a true, stable 4K@60Hz signal to an HDMI monitor, with proper macOS display control and no flickering or connection issues. This adapter is widely considered one of the most reliable ways to run modern HDMI monitors on Thunderbolt 1 & 2 Macs, and based on my experience, that reputation is well deserved. With this adapter, the Mac Pro recognizes the display correctly, scaling behaves as expected, and the system feels smooth and predictable. If your goal is a rock-solid 4K@60Hz setup on older Thunderbolt Macs, this adapter is a safe and proven choice. That said, I also experimented with a FUERAN HDMI EDID Emulator Adapter (4K), and it produced some surprising results. Using the EDID emulator, I was able to run the same HDMI monitor at 120Hz on the 2013 Mac Pro — something that is not normally possible. This appears to be related to how the emulator presents the display’s capabilities to macOS. One important note: when using higher refresh rates or nonstandard display modes, holding the Option key at boot is essential. This allows macOS to properly enumerate available resolutions and avoids the common issue of ultra-high-resolution modes producing extremely tiny, unreadable UI elements. Bottom line: • The IVANKY adapter is an excellent, dependable solution for 4K@60Hz on Thunderbolt 2 Macs. • The EDID emulator offers interesting flexibility for advanced users, but requires more tweaking and awareness of macOS display behavior. If you want reliability and simplicity, IVANKY is the way to go. If you enjoy experimenting and pushing older hardware further, pairing an adapter with an EDID emulator can unlock additional options.

Simple and reliable mini DP to HDMI adapter
Picked up this adapter for an older shared MacBook in our office, mainly to connect it to TVs and projectors in the conference room. We’ve been using it almost every day since we got it, and everything has been working without any issues so far. The build feels solid, and the connector itself seems well-made, which gives me some confidence that it’ll hold up with frequent plugging and unplugging. We use it for presentations during meetings and occasionally for hooking up a projector to play videos, and even during longer sessions the connection stays stable. It’s been a reliable little adapter overall, and worth having around if you need a simple, dependable way to connect Mini DisplayPort devices to HDMI displays.

Works great for my media center Mac
I'm using this on my Mac Pro to my HDTV. My Mac only had a mini DisplayPort so it was not able to directly connect to my HDTV. I initially thought I had to get a different machine or a newer TV, but turns out all I need is an adapter. It works great! I was able to stream 4k video without any issues or lag. This one is pretty compact so it's not even visible behind my media center. Overall I'm quite happy with it.
