I’ve always wanted a portable, easy to carry fishing rod because I travel often and love the excitement and challenge of fishing unfamiliar waters. This is the ideal rod I’ve been dreaming for. The set comes with everything I needed to start fishing right away, a high-performance spinning reel (a $40 value on its own), braided line (easily worth $10), various lures (approximately $15 value), and even hooks! Excellent value!The telescopic fishing rod is ultralight. In fact, when I received the delivery, I wondered if the shipper had forgotten to include the rod in the package! Upon first inspection, the rod appears steady. It is extremely compact, measures just over 16”. You can easily tuck it in a backpack or any carryon bags. Just before Christmas, I drove to a costal river in the Olympic Mountain to test it out. I was not disappointed. It handles just like other medium action rods that I have except it is much lighter. Even though I didn’t catch any fish (steelhead is what I was targeting), blown out river due to recent storms was to blame. The rod performed beautifully.

I ordered this pole because I wanted a collapsible rod for when I have to travel. I made the conscious decision to go for price rather than quality since I would only be using it three or four times a year. Imagine my surprise when I realized it is a really, really good rod and reel. The lures are good also, and they didn't even paint the eyelets closed on the jig heads (I hate that).I would recommend two changes by the manufacturer. 1) include some sinkers and small hooks for bait fishing, and 2) make the net pocket in the carrying case zippered to prevent added items from spilling out. As far as the case goes though, it too is really durable and high quality.Honestly, I was incredibly pleased with this purchase. I've used it a couple times so far on regular fishing outings, and I am probably going to get a couple for gifts for other avid fishers in my life. I highly recommend and endorse this product.

Great for traveling as the case is easily small enough to take with you in the car or hiking. The quality is good. I had a minor issue where I lost the rod end plug and the customer service from Ghosthorn was outstanding in replacing the rod.

We love the portability of the kit for backpacking. The rod and reel are well made, the case very carefully protects the telescoping rod, and the kit comes with multiple accessories in the small tackle box. We just recently purchased a similar kit from a different source, and while the rod and reel are comparable, the kit came with a completely empty plastic tackle box and we paid considerably more to boot. When this one arrived, I told my husband I want to switch with him! I don't think that is going to happen!

Bought this for my son and on cast 2 pole snapped off right at handle this is absolutely garbage font waste money on it ....good idea but not worth anything

I purchased this combo with case as a Christmas gift for myself for a planned 2022 spring break trip to Florida. The package arrived fast. Overall, I'd say it is a value combo - value means the money is well spent on a very good travel fishing combo. So, I am happy to rate this fishing combo a "4 star" from the current point of view. I do hope to catch some real fishes when I visit Florida in spring 2022 and the Texas gulf coastline in summer and Fall of 2022.p.s. I recently tested the combo in a nearby creek; everything worked so well and smooth. I now revise my ranking to a "5 star".

Fit together perfectly. Extended smoothly to its full length with a flick of the wrist. I would not use the line that was with it, but I already owned some of the lures that came with it and I know they catch fish. I like the case it came with and it has extra room on top for another small tackle box and/or pliers or tools like ect.. I bought this for an upcoming trip to Aruba and I'm excited to travel with and try it out.

Fish pole broke quite easily. Not sure at all how it’d work fishing a weighted fish even small ones from lake or river

Bought it for someone and the person said the product doesn't look like how it costed. But it wasn't too bad to have to return it. Hopefully it'll last long for the travel.
