Steering, welds, paint and decals
I know this is a kids bike. And I know that some of the aesthetics that an adult bike would have, like paint jobs, welds and decal placement are just not as important. That said, the welds look like someone slapped them together. They are ugly. I'm surprised this bike made it through quality control. As with all rushed weld jobs, there is going to be some pitting, and so when the bike is painted you have small holes that go all the way to the inside of the bike pipes, making the bike susceptible to rusting and eventually failure. This bike had pitting on the bike steering stem, which is the worst place for poor craftsmanship. Should the bike be left out in the rain it would rust and eventually put a child at risk for a failure. And failure of the bike stem is the most dangerous place because there is no way to protect yourself from a bad injury.Second, the steering column should be smooth, well oiled and easy to turn, almost effortless. This felt like someone had poured sand into the bike stem making the turning of the wheel very inconsistent, like it was catching internally.Last and least was the decals. They were slapped on and not adhered. A minor detail like this shows the pride in craftsmanship, and this product just didn't have it.

Great bike for the money
We bought this for my son a few weeks ago. First, as I'm sure every parent is wondering: it's relatively quick to put together. The instructions are a little confusing; I think they ship one booklet for every bike, regardless of its features, so the pictures don't match what you have. However, if you just look at the few parts you have to put together, you can figure it out. I think it took me 20 minutes, and I'm no handyman. The bike itself looks great and seems to ride great. The training wheels are at the perfect spot, just a little above the ground. Now, I do wonder a bit about the paint on the outside: we've already got a couple of scratches. On the other hand, for a relatively cheap bike, we are very pleased.

Find something else!
I bought a 'display' version of this bike on discount from Amazon, and it arrived missing a piece that was difficult to find. I had to take it to a local bike shop to fix the valve stem, but it never held together properly. On more than one occasion, the handlebars came loose from the stem. The plastic foot pedals came apart after one season of light riding as well.

Great bike, Great price
My son loves his bike! So glad we didn't spend more on a licensed character bike. He couldn't care less what's on it, although he was excited that it was red! Works great so far, no issues at all. We keep it in our garage and out of any weather, minus him running it through some left over puddles ;)
