I’ve had this Kuhn Rikon set for about a year now, and they've become a staple in my camping gear. I use them for all sorts of general cooking duties out in the field – slicing through meat, chopping vegetables, and dicing fruit. They’ve handled everything I’ve thrown at them without a fuss. Washing them is straightforward, just like any other knife, and I’ve seen no signs of discolouration or rust on the blades, which is always a good sign for something used outdoors. The safety sheaths are probably the best part; they live on the knives when not in use. It means I can just chuck them into my camping setup without worrying about cutting myself or damaging anything else in my bag. They stay put really well too. While they’re a bit smaller than the knives I’d typically use at home, they’re spot on for camp cooking. They feel well-balanced and are comfortable enough to use, even when prepping a full meal. More importantly, they slice through food cleanly with no sticking, which makes a big difference when you're trying to get a meal ready in the wilderness.

Just what I needed nice and sharp protected sleeve

Great for camping (due to being able to sheath the knives). Very practical and useful sizes for portability. But devilishly sharp! I'm an experienced chef but sliced my thumb badly on first outing, ending up in minor injuries!!!

Cut well and fit nicely in my hand for chopping etc. Had them for a while now, and even going through the dishwasher daily they have kept a good sharp edge.

These knives are extremely sharp when you get them, so much so that I had a nasty cut from one of them. However, even though we hand washed them (no dishwasher), they went blunt after about 6 weeks. I have sharpened them, but they are still not back to their original sharpness and will eventually degrade enough that they can’t be sharpened any more. I’m not sure I would buy them again, although they are not a bad price.
