Great introduction to Japan and Japanese culture for children. My kids loved it and read it several times before going to Japan.

This book was on our Great Grandson's Christmas list. Just today our Granddaughter told us that they are being sent back to Okinawa by the Marines. This Great-Grandson was born there and he is so excited to be going back to the place of his birth. Our Grqnddaught said he is pouring over this book about Japan! Really great book -fun to read together as a family.

Our son has become really interested in Japan and the Japanese culture. He is not a big reader unless it relates to one of his few interests. We bought this book for him and he loves it! He is a teenager, but really appreciated all the information and pictures it provided. This was a great starter information book for him as other culture books for older teens and adults don't always break things down to help you understand the background to build the interest. He has enjoyed sharing what he knows with some of our neighbors younger kids and showing them some of the pictures and such in the book which they think is really cool. Great starter book for children and teens who may be interested in learning more with just reading boring text about a country.
