This is a really cute idea. The materials that come in it are top quality! Now my daughter did not particularly have the patience for it, but if your daughter/son likes to sew or has more patience with this sort of thing then... also, I probably would recommend it for 12 and up. It took a lot of my help which I didn't like because I wanted my daughter to do it and experience it. Bottom line is, make sure your child has the attention span to stick with it to the end and maybe better for a little older kids. It's a very organized set though and the case to hills everything is great!I'm going to wait until my daughter gets a little older (she is 9) and try it again.

The felt is high quality and the pre-punched holes make it easy for kids. I liked that my daughter needed to focus and concentrate - giving her something to be proud of when finished. She quickly added it to her collection of animals she sleeps with each night. Very fun!

This is a great beginning sewing activities for children. I have two boys, 6 and 10 that are a boy. They usually prefer Lego or Nerf blasters. They're interested in camping and living off the grid. I told them they have to know how to sew as a survival skill. We got these and I think they were both surprised how much they had fun. The Little Critters are cute, and easy to sew spread some of the holes are missing but I just poked it with a needle. It does have stuffing so it's obviously not for a child that still puts things in their mouths. But for older children it's fine. A great starter kit and I plan to get another one with different animals

I bought this for my 5 yo grandson. The box says for older kids but with Grandma's help, he has loved this birthday gift! EVERYTHING you need is included and we could get started sewing immediately. We spend a lot of time together working on creating these stuffed animals. A great craft to help teach eye hand coordination, patience, following directions, etc. We love the little storage tote which keeps all of the supplies in one compact place. I plan on purchasing the other kit offerings that have different animals.

Loved this activity set so much! It comes with a zippered case and each animal sewing project was packaged separately with its own instructions. This was a bonus since I have 2 young kids who like to fight over who gets what. This way they each had their own kit and instructions to follow. All the other materials were neatly packaged and extra thread colors were included. The age recommended says 8+ but by 4 year old and 7 year old did it just fine. I helped them line up the pieces and tie the knot and closures. One tip is to hot glue on the detailing pieces. Saves time, stays adhered better, and looks nicer. My kids are wanting to buy another set!

I was very excited to get this kit for my 7 year old for Christmas. She loves arts and crafts and I thought this would be a great introduction to sewing! While they are cute, they are definitely difficult for my 7 year old to execute on her own. More parental help is needed than I initially envisioned, but we're still having fun doing them.

Great sewing kit for my 7 year old daughter. I enjoyed teaching my daughter how to start sewing. Shes already finished an elephant by herself. Came with safe larger needles. Also came with sharp needles and pins. I just keep those put up. The larger ones are just fine for her to use on her own.

I have bought two variations of this kit so far, and I am very impressed with them. They come with more than enough materials to complete all of the animals and the little sewing kit included is great for future use. My daughter (8 years old) was able to do them independently (for the most part) and I think she also learned about sewing from working through the kits. I have bought several other basic sewing kits for her and this brand is by far the best I've come across.
