Can't get enough of this stuff!!!!
The only complaint I have is that I wish they sold this lotion in a much bigger size. I don't go swimming without first putting this lotion on, it really is the go-to pre-swimming lotion that you must have!! I first found out about the lotion from some swimming blog website about how to prevent chlorine damage to your skin after swimming and I saw a post from someone that mentioned this product. I gave it a try and bought a tube and never looked back since. This stuff is AWESOME!! It really works as it says on their website. I wish someone had told me about this lotion or that I found out about it waay before. The lotion is just the right thickness and consistency that it's not too greasy feeling, but it definitely works 110%!! The smell is nice and pleasant enough that it's not too overpowering and overbearing. The lotion feels like a thicker form of a moisturizing lotion you'd use to put on your hands, it's a little bit thicker like some of the hair styling gels/pommade. It's got a little of what feels like a wax base but it's not too heavy and it's thin enough that your skin doesn't feel waxy at all. But the wax base is what I believe gives the waterproof barrier on your skin. After putting it on your skin, it dries to a point that you don't feel all greasy or sticky, but you can still tell that there is a coating barrier on the surface of your skin. And you'll really notice the difference when you jump into the pool! The water just beads right off your skin. I know that water does bead off your skin, but you can tell the difference similar to when you're washing dishes and you have grease from the dishes on your skin, you can feel the water from the faucet glide off the palm of your hands when you're washing the food off the dishes. As opposed to when you wash your hands as you normally do, you can tell the moisture from your hands is different, especially after drying them off with a towel. With this pre-swim lotion, I can tell the water glides off and around my body as I am swimming and you will notice it more when you speed up to swim faster, the water moves around your skin differently. I think that's maybe why some people feel that they swim faster when they apply this lotion, not so much that it makes you swim faster as it is a placebo effect in making you think that you're swimming faster. Also, do be careful as this lotion will make your skin slippery as snot when wet. When it's applied to your skin, it feels like you just applied some moisturizing lotion, but as soon as you get in the pool and your skin gets wet, your skin will feel like it's been lubricated with a teflon coating! As the instructions say, definitely don't apply any to the bottom of your feet and make sure you wipe your palms after you apply it to your body. Otherwise, your hands will be super slippery once they get wet. Afterwards, taking a hot shower will make you feel like most of the lotion has washed off, but the interesting thing that I noticed is that my skin feels like it's still moisturized after drying off. Usually, after I get out of the shower, I have to put moisturizing lotion on my body or else my body starts to get itchy all over from the dry skin and hard water. But when I get out of the shower after I had swam with the pre-swim lotion on my body, my body doesn't get all dry and itchy after coming out of the shower, so I don't even bother putting on any moisturizing lotion afterwards. Nice!! Like I said, I wish they had a larger tub size for this lotion, as I keep ordering two/three tubes to make sure I don't run out! How much will a tube last will depend on how much you slather on your body. I always make sure to keep stocked up with an extra tube just in case so that I don't run out before I go to the pool as I can't imagine swimming without this anymore.

A great product.
This is a great product. My skin is super sensitive and some pools are more highly chlorinated than others. Dermaswim helps protect my skin while swimming and I suffer much less itching and discomfort after.

My little boy can be a little boy and not suffer anymore
My little boy is 8 and has suffered with skin and other allergies all of his life. One of his allergies caused him to have violent breakouts immediatley after he came in contact with chlorine. He would break out from head to toe in these red welt like bumps that were inflammed and itched and burned so bad that regular aquaphor or Eucerin lotion burned him they were also hot to the touch and he would get them in the most personal of areas just as bad as he would on the rest of his body. We spent tons of money going to specialists and found out that he had food allergies, and dermatologists for skin creams such as steroids that have terrible side effects to treat the violent rash. WE cut everything that we could out of his diet and nothing seemed to work. I stumbled across this cream on the Dermaskin website and decided to give it a try I purchased off of Amazon a few months ago and we have gone swimming everyday that it has been nice out and my little boy has had a blast. I help him apply cream from head to toe (ofcourse he does his private area)and then we apply sunscreen only where the sun touches. We do this right before we get in the car to go to the pool. Make sure you cover your seats with something and you apply close to the door because it is greasy. BUT IT REALLY WORKS,I refer to it as the miracle lotion. IT has also helped with all his rough exzema patch spots that had turned into more like rough scars. It moisturized his skin and helped get rid of them. I am not kidding you when I say it really works and that it is worth every penny. He did have a small exzema break-out in a small patch on his leg but I think that is because we went to a water park and they have to use much more and stronger chemicals then community pools,or private pools. I only wish it came in a bigger size since you have to use so much at once, maybe even a 10oz size but for the same price as an 8oz. I am also a little confused on how long the cream lasts with each application, so do I need to reapply like I do sunscreen everyso often or does it last a couple of hours once it is on the skin. I have reorded second bottle and have told everyone I know and everyone who has known us for the past couple of years have seen the change in his skin. PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY. Oh and my son is also allergice to fragrance, this has a slight fresh smell and it didnt bother his skin what so ever. LOVE IT!!!!!

works ok but Beware
Does act as a barrier but Beware and don't overuse. It is a barrier in BOTH directions. After several uses this product seemed to embed in my pores and prevented sweat from exiting my torso area when doing cardio workouts on land and caused a terrible red rash. So I had to stop using it and I found that just a normal moisturizing regimen worked better for me to prevent skin irritation after swimming

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LIFE-CHANGING! No More Post-Swim Rash!
After years of struggling with painful, itchy rashes every time my son swam, we finally found a solution — and I truly can't express how grateful we are. DERMASWIM Pre-Swim Lotion has completely changed our experience. Today was the FIRST time ever that my son swam without getting a rash. No irritation, no redness, no discomfort — just pure fun in the water. We’ve tried everything over the years, but nothing worked like this. I applied the lotion before he got in the pool, and it created the perfect barrier. It goes on easily, smells pleasant, and best of all — it works. This product has brought so much peace of mind and joy back into swimming for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making something that actually does what it promises. If you're a parent dealing with chlorine sensitivity or pool-related rashes, give this a try. This is a total game-changer for our family. 💙

No more chlorine rash in the hot tub!
I have been breaking out in a weird rash all over my back and underarms in a certain family members hot tub starting last year. It was to the point I wouldn't go in it when visiting anymore. Used it for years with no issue so maybe they changed the type of chlorine they use? I do not break out in my pool or my buddies tub that I was in a bunch of times this summer, so it was weird trying to figure out why it only happened in that certain tub. They changed water/filters, etc. but I kept getting the weird red rash every-time that typically stayed and made me miserable for about 3 days afterwards. It was NOT "folliculitis" that a google search will suggest, which is a bumpy red rash around hair follicles. Mine looked more like a reaction to too much chlorine or bromine on my skin and looked like light red blotches that itched like crazy. I took a chance and bought some of this stuff and rubbed it on the areas I previously had problems with and went in the same problematic hot tub. I showered right after getting out with another brands anti-chlorine shower gel just to be extra careful all the chemicals were off my skin. The results: No rash! I used it again on Christmas eve with the same results, no more rash! I bought a third product to use after the shower to keep my skin hydrated as well now. I was skeptical this product would work for me, but it did. The stuff is super-slippery so be careful where you put it. A light coating on my face prevented it from getting all itchy and irritated from the tubs steam. Will be buying more as this stuff will run out soon. Thanks DermaSwim! :update: Turns out I am allergic to bromine. The hot tub water cleaning routine was switched from chlorine to bromine because of the rising cost of chlorine (nobody bothered to tell me about the chemical change). This product still helps prevent the breakout just the same. Don't use bromine to begin with :)
