This is a great Magformer, especially for the car enthusiast. There are pictures of many different cars to be built, and with a little creativity your young (or old) engineer can make modifications of their choosing. This is even more true if you have other Magformers with with to work. The little man in the car is a nice addition, too. Most Magformer sets don't have that little nugget of fun. My kids (seven, five, and 18 months) all enjoy Magformers; they are also fun for mom and dad to play with, too (BONUS)! I think they will be a much-loved toy at our house. Friends and family of all ages enjoy sitting down and constructing. This set also comes with some sturdy pages that you can use as templates, though it would have been better to see these pages bound together in some way.We also have a large magnetic board in our house, so it's fun to make artistic scenes with all the different shapes.

Bought a starter set years ago when this toy first came out, we have been adding sets ever sense. the base magnet shapes are even good for toddlers little fingers. Magnets are strong and well secured inside the shapes. Buildings stand tall until taken down. Great as gifts!!

My previous favorite toy was Magna-Tiles Clear Colors 100 Piece Set. I bought them when my oldest grandson was 3. He just turned 6. They have entertained him, and his cousins for hours and hours in the short time we have had them. I love seeing how creative in their constructions they can be.The Magformers Wow Set was a Lightning Deal and I thought it might be a good addition since it had some wheels and can make cars/trucks/trains. etc. After I ordered it, I decided 16 pieces would not be enough, so I also ordered a 62 piece set. They both arrived today while the 6 year old was here. We had the best time with them. They can do things the Magnatiles cannot do. I am most impressed with the instructions on how to lay the pieces out flat and then lift by one of the center pieces, pulling it into a 3-D figure. You can't do that with the Magnatiles since they are solid and have no opening in the center to pick them up. I am a retired geometry teacher, so to be able to have children translate what they want their 3-D figure to look like when finished into the 2-D model is HUGE. I don't expect my 6 year old grandson to be able to do this for awhile, but he can make the pattern the picture shows and see how it will pull into the 3-D figure. I want toys he can grow with and this is definitely one of those. I have 7 grandchildren, so I expect these will be a favorite toy to play with at grandma's house. I ordered another set this afternoon because I saw that there are sets with pentagons and we didn't have any in the sets I already purchased. Yes, these are an investment, but I expect they will be a favorite for many, many years. Possibly even longer than Legos, since we really haven't gotten into those yet.

We bought this for our grand daughter who already had a Magformer set that she loved to play with. I like them because they are well constructed, the magnets are strong enough for projects to stick together and they really boost her imagination. She likes to play with them by herself and like to play with them with grand dad. Adding the wheel set really touched off her imagination. She can make cars, tractors, busses, even rocket ships with wheels! Very educational toy that's fun to play with. Takes no batteries, only need imagination.

We bought these for our 4 year old. I think they are really cool and thought he'd love them since he likes building with legos. He isn't too into them on his own but if I am helping him build or instruct him to make shapes he will play along. This comes with big flash cards to show ideas on how to make different shapes or objects. It's made to size so you can lay magnets right on top of the cards and make a house or rocket, etc. It also comes with a bunch of car designs to make. My older son (10) enjoyed making the cars more than my 4 year old. He enjoyed making the shapesOn the cards. My daughter (age 2) has a different set and she just enjoys stacking the magnets and pulling them apart.

I was really questioning my judgement when I purchased this item. How fun can this actually be given the expensive price tag. Then Amazon had it as a lightening deal, although I thought it was still expensive, I ordered it anyway. At the time my son was 4 and my daughter was 11 months. Both played with it endlessly and today at 5 and 21 months we are still playing with it and now fighting over it from time to time. We have a 7 and 9 year old that visit often and they both play with it a lot too. So I would order more sets at the right price.

My son loves magformers. This set adds two key elements: wheels and a driver. The wheels (four total wheels, two total axles) are big and awesome. The man spins. What more could you want, except possibly a woman instead of a man! I will add that there are some cool cards in this set that show how to make some magformer shapes by laying out pieces and then picking them up from one location, like you can find on the magformer's product website. It is nice to have those in print.

My kids love, love, love these magnetic blocks. Each Christmas we buy a new set to add to our collection. I love that they encourage creative thinking and love seeing what the children dream up and build. I also like how easy they are to clean up. Since they are magnetic, we just throw them into a plastic bin and they stay right in place. They are great to take along in the car as well as on vacation. We have taken them several times with us and pull them out for the kids when they need something to do. The possibilities are endless with these. I have also used them in my classrooms with several different age groups and kids love them. They are a bit on the pricy side, but they are well worth it.
