These boots didn't make my feet sore breaking in and are very comfortable. Not my first pair I usually get a couple years of daily use out of them.

Boots have held up pretty well, they are light weight and decent during long hours. After a while you will have to buy inserts, supports in boots break down with extended use.

These boots are the first side zip tactical boots I’ve worn and I’m in love with them easy on and off the feel broken in as soon as you get them they look good dressed up or down I did use leather conditioner on them just so I get more mileage out of them but they feel like they’ll last years so as of this review I highly recommend bates boots or at least the tactical sport 2 there is some improvement over the highly recommended core ultralight that preceded them the soles are better

Please stay away. I have been in Law Enforcement for nearly 30 years. I have exclusively used Bates boots for most of that time. Those boots were made in the USA, these aren't. One of the selling points, is that there was no break in period. Comfortable from day one. The first day I wore these boots, I couldn't wait to get them off at the end of shift. The quality just isn't the same. The sole wears out too quickly, on concrete.Please. Please. Please...Start making your boots in the U.S. again. I have recommended this brand to hundereds of new Officers. I would not recommend them anymore.

These are great! Wide toe box for bunions. I wore these for 18 hours for 3 days for break in. I can't even ware tennis shoes for that long! Use baby powder to stop the squeak! ( Cuz they aren't really "tactical" with the squeak...lol). They accidentally sent me size 12 when I needed size 11, but I kept them and they fit great. I also ordered the brown suede at size 11 and they fit also. The suede did not need baby powder.

Very comfortable and slide on and off easily. The leather is textured though and does not hold or take a bright shine. Which I need that shine on the front of the boot for where I work.The three stars is not to do with quality. The pictures lead me to believe I could get a bright shine.
