Who knew Amazon Basics was just what the Teacher ordered?! I was looking for a pencil sharpener for the kids as I was growing tired of buying individual sharpeners they'd end up break8ng or losing. This is the perfect solution. Right out the box I put it to work! Sharpened a stack of colored pencils. It stops automatically once the pencils sharpened. It doesn't continue to shred it down like some of the others which is great! It's not big and noisy. The top is secure. In order to empty it you have to push in on 2 sides to lift it up. This prevents accidental spills. The item doesn't come with a power adapter for the USB cord provided. It can be operated with 4 AA batteries. The USB cord did not have a twist tie around it. I added a tie for personal preference (organization). Do I recommend? Yes! Don't hesitate. Buy! This item is great for the price.

I was so excited about this product. I’ve ordered Amazon basics with a great outcome. This not so much. Me and the kids were entering a fun coloring contest and our little battery sharpener wasn’t cutting it. This looked awesome. I started sharpening colored pencils right away I got through about 10-15 lagged so bad I wanted to throw it!! Replace the batteries and plugged it into the outlet thinking maybe I’d have a better outcome. No such luck. I don’t know what the issue is with this thing but it’s not worth it. Not even for 15 bucks. Don’t waste your money. I do have to say Amazon is great with a return policy And I appreciate that.

This is a great pencil sharpener. Works well and I love how it takes the guess work out of how long to sharpen the pencil as it stops on its own based on the setting selected. Highly recommend.
