How's the tread? Do they keep you from slipping on the slimey rocks?

You still have to be very cautious on slippery rocks. The tread is ok. After 2 hours in the waist high stream my underneath clothes were damp. I do not use these often so they served the purpose for the price. But if I was using these more than a few times per year I would invest in higher quality.
