Really works but I used my own black light.
Product was so cool to use in a germ teaching lesson. 10/10.

Taught a 3 year-old the importance of thorough hand-washing!
This kit came exactly as described, with the instructions, a 2 oz bottle of Glo Germs, and a mini black light on a Key Chain. The lotion went on easily and wasn't very greasy. The instructions were very clear. I was impressed with how bright the light was, despite other reviews I read. It worked well and wasn't difficult to make out the germs at all.We were doing a unit on germs for school, so before lunchtime, as my oldest (8) was reading to my youngest (3), I told them I had some cool new lotion. I made sure they couldn't read the bottle as I dispensed some to them. They rubbed it in really well, then went back to reading their books. I proceeded to point out some fake mark on my 8 year-old's face, so she went to the bathroom to check it out. The 3 year-old followed along, climbing up on the stool and looking. I told one of them to get the lights while the other brought the book in and closed the door. I turned on the light and explained what I had done. Both kids were shocked at where all the "germs" had transferred - all over the sink, faucet, light switch, wall, doorknob, door frame, their clothes, faces, the soap dispenser, and THE BOOK! I told them if these were real germs, they'd spread in a similar fashion and it's important to thoroughly wash hands. So the first time they washed, they did a poor job, although they thought they did a good job. We checked out their hands and noted that in the process of washing, they had splashed "germs" all over their toothbrush and the wall. When they dried their hands, they had transferred germs to the towel. They also had these "germs" all under their nails. Gross! They rewashed, doing a better job, but then got more "germs" from the towel!! They washed a third time, which was when my three year-old was almost losing her mind at how "gross" this was, and we made sure we washed under the black light so we knew we got them all off, then dried with a fresh towel. They were satisfied. My three year-old started to open the door and I pointed out that she caught more "germs." She insisted on washing again.Overall, this was a really cool experiment and showed how germs spread. It got the point across not only to my 8 year-old, but to my 3 year-old. We made a point to turn on the light and show that you couldn't ordinarily see germs. I also pointed out that these weren't real germs, but simulated how real germs acted.I've noticed that they've been washing better lately, and they had clean hands before eating lunch!!

Great educational tool!
I was struggling teaching my son how to wash his hands properly and getting him to understand why it’s important. This little experiment did the trick! We all did an experiment where we rubbed our hands with the lotion and open the door, flushed the toilet, and turned the faucet on to wash our hands. I showed him where the “germs” transferred from our hands to all of the items we touched with the light and then did a before washing and after washing of his hands with the light. I also put the lotion on my hands and did before I washed and after I washed and he could see the difference very clearly of how much of the lotion (“germs”) he still had on his hands how little I had. He now takes extra care when he washes his hands and asks me if he thinks he got all the germs off. Fun and educational for him and afforded me a bit more peace of mind knowing that even if I’m not there, he’ll take a little extra care when he washes his hands at school! 🙌🙌🙌

Good tool to teach proper hand washing!
I needed this for a hand washing demo for 10 to 14 year olds. It worked well however the black light was a little small. I would recommend turning off some of the lights to see the 'glow' a bit better. Make sure you use the amount of gel recommend for best results. It was a last minute order and it arrived just barely in time for the presentation.

Great for teaching littles the importance of adequate hand washing!
I love to do "science experiments" with the little guys I babysit; this was a much-needed one! I gave them each a drop of the lotion and said it was "germy bug guts" and then they had to go wash them off their hands really well. Then we went into a dark part of the house and I shined the black light on them (this one is pretty small but works) and told them that these "bug guts" or "germs" glowed in the dark - so whatever they didn't get off their hands when washing would show up. After seeing the magic of all the leftover glowy sprinkles on their hands but not mine we washed again and voila! No more germs/bug guts and four pairs of clean little boy hands!

Lovely idea
Was very excited to use this kit for a kid’s science project AND promote better health. Unfortunately the light that it comes with came completely dead or faulty. Unfortunate use of money but presentation is due in a few days so no time to replace it.

Great handwashing visual aid
Our boys loved this in our object lesson on germs and handwashing. No more questions about why we need to wash our hands.

Great training product
I loved the ease of use. I was able to teach a group of scouts the importance of washing our hands. They really loved being able to "see" the germs on our hands and knowing if they washed them off. Great product, fun and easy to use in training.
