NGK(6403) RC-TE132 Spark Plug Wire Set

I have been running this wiring set on my 1992 Lexus SC400 for nearly a year. This includes a cross country drive where the car had to endure the heat of the desert south west United States. This NGK spark plug wire set is by far superior to any wiring set I've had on the 1UZ FE V8 engine. This superiority is not just limited to the blue coloring of the wire's insulation sheath. The only wiring set that comes close in quality is the OEM Toyota wire set but it's far more expensive than this NGK set. The NGK wire set's quality meets/exceeds OEM and is far superior to the cheap generic wire sets available at Autozone and O'Reilly Auto Parts. The first major difference on the NGK set is each spark plug wire has a number label indicating which engine cylinder this wire is meant to plug into. This may not seem like much but it is when dealing with the rats nest the spark plug wiring is on the 1UZ FE. This old generation one V8 engine predates the Lexus coil on plug ignition systems so the spark plug wiring is a wear and tear item that will eventually have to be replaced sooner or later. The next big difference is the NGK wire has a much bigger grip area on the spark plug boot. This is a major help when pulling the boot off the spark plug. The third big difference is the NGK wire set plugs will unseat and re-seat properly when plugged into or removed from the distributor cap connections. The fourth major difference is the NGK wire set ignition coil pig tail wires seat into the ignition coils perfectly every single time. The only downside I've observed with the NGK wire set is the wires are a little thicker than the OEM wires. Thus some creative rerouting may be necessary when running the wires through the wiring tracks present on the engine's cylinder head valve covers. I did not have to cut or break anything to make these wires fit onto my car's engine. I had no problems routing the wires to make sure they kept clear of the timing belt on both left and right side cam gear areas (in front of distributor caps). Nor did I have any problems routing the wires to make sure they tucked into the valve cover tracks (around the spark plug shafts) so the plastic spark plug wire covers reinstalled and seated correctly on top of the valve covers. After nearly a year of driving the blue colored insulation still looks nearly brand new with minimal color fade due to heat cycling. The black boots at both ends have suffered some color fade due to heat cycling but this is normal wear and tear. I would buy this wiring set again in a heart beat given how much trouble the cheap aftermarket sets have given me. Save yourself the trouble and just get this NGK wire set and be done with it.

I just installed these today in my LS400. They fit so well you would never know they were not the factory item, besides the obvious fact that they are really bright blue in color.The plug caps are larger in the area you grab them for removal/install, and everywhere else the fit was as good as factory.The only thing I can complain about is the cylinder markings. These wires do have markings, which is a major timesaver when doing a routed install such as the LS400 (A place for everything and everything in its place), but they are just a numbered ring in one place on each wire. By comparison, the factory wires have cylinder number markings, printed right on the wire itself both upside down and upside right every couple inches! This might sound like a frivolous detail, but it really helps routing the wires and checking your installation to have those markings all over the place. So I have a solution: install them one wire at a time, one guide notch at a time. It's slightly more work then ripping them out en masse, and when you are done there is a very very slim chance that any wire wound up in the wrong guide notch, and basically zero chance that you have a cylinder mismatch.On one of the wires I had to trim back the protective poly helical sheath that is wrapped around select areas of the wires. In just one place out of many the sheath was about 15mm too long and interfered with the guide notch. I just unwrapped it a couple turns and snipped off the excess with a pair of shears. Otherwise, problem-free.

1991 Lexus LS400 - My Shadetree Mechanic was able to successfully install these spark plug wires and was impressed with the quality of them compared to the original ones on the car. My car starts better and seems to be much happier. But lately, I feel like I am beginning to stray from her. Between you me and the wall, sometimes, late nights I get online and go to Craigslist to secretly lust after the used LS430s and LS460s. I am beginning to lie more and more. One time I almost got caught. They were only cat videos I cried! If my Lexus ever found out she would leave me and take the kids. I would be heart broken and destitute. I would have to move into those apartments for single lonely bachelors. Then I would have to join one of those 12-Step Support Groups to work through my feelings and come to grips with my automotive emotional infidelity. But I'm a man and I have automotive wants, needs, and desires. I am just flesh and blood you know. Shakespeare understood the relationships between men and women. I mean cars. Where was I? Oh, I recommend this brand of spark plug wire set for your 1st Generation Lexus.

NGK is the GOAT when it comes to ignition products in your vehicle. I replaced the wires in my 94 LS400 with these using NGK iridum plugs and NGK ignition coils a few months ago. She has been running lexus smooth ever since!

Wires are good quality exact fit except for one coil plug wire which was too short of a length otherwise excellent product.

One of the two coil cable came with incorrect dimension. I had to use the old coil cable.

Great spark plug wire kit. The wires are well labeled for each cylinder and distributor connection they need to be installed to. This made the install a breeze.

Part number may come up as a 7mm wire on other websites. Wires are 5mm though. Wish the seller would list the wire size, however stock Lexus is 5mm.
