Fox and Simpson Oakdale Mechanical Bell Alarm Clock

It's a cute little clock. As someone already said, it's smaller than you might expect.As compared to the old brass ones, this feels a little bit cheaper and less durable in my hand, but it also doesn't tick quite as loud, which is nice.When I took it out of the box and wound it up until the key "stopped," and it immediately began losing time like crazy-- almost two minutes in 15. I then adjusted the little calibration and made sure I really wound the thing tight--the key seemed to have "freed up" since I had first wound it, even though that was only like 15 minutes ago. Now it's just a hair too fast so I've got to adjust it again. Once I get the calibration all set, I suspect it'll work just fine. :)EDIT: This clock broke :( returning it. The bell side broke. Might replace it with the same thing and hope for the best.~~William Navarre

I seemed to be a nice alarm clock. I like to have a wind up one as a back up for when I get up for work at 3 in the morning. It worked okay for a few days, but then something went wrong with the alarm. The regular clock portion still functions fine, but the alarm will not wind properly. I am always very careful to only turn the key until it is at it's stopping point gently. I did not over wind this clock, but I do believe the spring went bad after only a few days of use. When I try to wind the alarm it feels as though it slips after a bit, and will not stay wound up. I looked inside, and see no bad gears. Not sure completly what went wrong, but for a clock I paid around 30 dollars for after shipping I expected better.

I like this clock, the only thing is when purchasing it, I expected it to be really big with the classic alarm clock style casing. Also I didn't know that this alarm clock could fit in the palm of my hands, it is soo tiny!Anyway it seems to be keeping pretty good time. The mechanism is plastic and aluminum. There are white markers on the back indicating the alarm knob, regulator hole, time knob, etc.

Not a good product! Has to be wound at least twice a day. Alarm hammer does not touch the bells, making the alarm function non-existent!!!IT'S EVERYTHING YOU DON'T WANT IN AN ALARM CLOCK!!!

Cool little winding alarm clock. It is what it looked online. The only downside is, the ticking sound of the small clock is loud.

Well suited for our ranch/farm house decor. Exceeded expectations because of the outstanding quality! Good-bye batteries!

Overpriced

Réveil mécanique avec un style rétro plutôt sympa. Fonctionnement mécanique classique : une molette pour régler les heures, une autre pour régler le réveil et deux pour remonter l'horloge ou le réveil. Une petite languette permet de régler la vitesse de l'horloge. à voir dans la durée.Édit : Je l'ai depuis plusieurs années maintenant et il fonctionne toujours aussi bien ! Il donne du cachet à la déco, je suis ravie de mon achat !Attention toutefois, le tic-tac est fort ^^
