Been wanting to get a thermometer that I can see outside my window and I love it. Simple. Large numbers. Easy to read. Checked for accuracy and it is better that the local news that is 30 minutes away.

This is a good buy in the eight dollar range. The numbers are clear and readable from inside the house when placed within ten feet of your back windows. I have another one inside the house to keep an eye on room temperatures for the cats in my family. The first one I purchased was perfect. There is no cover on the manufacturer's package over the clear plastic plate part of the thermometer. The item was unscratched or marred. The second recent delivery came with a scratch one inch wide and two inches long on the faceplate of the thermometer... because there is no protection wrap on the actual box from the manufacturer. Before any shipping boxes or delivery services. So... its not enough to destroy vision of the numbers beneath it... but this scratch had to occur inside the Amazon warehouse itself because the shipping box was undamaged. Other than that... the two units work well, and for the money, are the most bang for the buck. Eight bucks for a good readable attractive thermometer. The accuracy appears to be at least within one degree of reported weather bureau temps. It is a durable product under reasonable usage. All you need is a simple tacking nail in a porch railing and there are two holes in the backside for catching hanging instruments for the device. It is not waterproof, but really does not need to be. The mechanism for temp is a simple spring on the backside which in most circumstances is not open to the weather. My advice is buy the thing. You can spend much more and get basically the same thing. The eight inch diameter is possibly the only drawback. Most outside temp gauges are 12 inches in diameter, and that much more legible. But you will pay more. The one thing to know is that there is no protection in manufacturer's packaging over the face of the gauge, so it is vulnerable to surface scratches. They work. It's not worth the fuss for me to complain and ship it back or get another one. Probably the cats will knock it off the back porch railing once or twice anyhow.

Great little thermometer for the price! I needed a replacement/upgrade and this thermometer got the bill.👍. It is accurate and dependable.

I have had mine for 2 years and 3 months and it is still working fine. I often compare its reading to the temperature on the NOAA site and it is very accurate.

not thrilled with this, not even sure it is working correctly. I don't think the temperature is accurate

The type face is big and clear to see from a bit of distance. The body is a bit cheap plastic and it just a simple bimetalic strip tied to a poiter. This is not a percision instrument, but can clearly tell you if you need a jacket or not when you head outside.

Easy to put up. Large face means its easy to use.

Thought this product looked good, but when I read the instructions it states not to put anywhere sunny. Being as this is designed for outside use this seemed totally absurd as the sun will reach it eventually. When the sun reaches it the reading is not correct.
